Overview

Do something different other than the typical things to do in Bohol by going on an evening boating trip in the Abatan River, a perfect opportunity to see a number of fireflies. This stream journey added with a local nearby supper in the waterfront town of Baclayon, is ideal for nature sweethearts and urban-inhabitants seeking tranquility in the island area. As you journey through the serene and still waters and oar more profound into the mangrove, the sound of crickets will pervade the century-old swamp, which shows a healthy ecosystem. En route, you will be seeing the riverside communities that benefit from the waterways, and in return, protect the area that sustains their livelihood along with the endangered flora and fauna that live in it. It’s an amazing trip! During the kayak, staff is so caring to tell us many interesting stories of fireflies, we also share cultures from our own countries! Highly recommended!

We booked the private version of this tour and we loved it. The boatman took a lot of time to answer our questions. It seems that the boatman is arranged randomly by a third party. But ecotraveler arranged the transportation and bottled water which was very nice. It felt easy, convenient and exclusive. The tour lasts about 30-40 minutes but it’s magical enough. Highly recommended.
