Overview

Our Daily Bike Tours explore the historic suburbs of Riga, covering the most interesting sections of Riga. The bike tour rides along the river before entering the Moscow district. The area which became the Jewish ghetto during WWII is one of the most interesting areas in Riga. We then explore the trendy Central district to find some nice bars and cafes and street art. These tours ride off the tourist route, showing a different, more realistic side of Riga, from the comfortable saddle of a city bike.

Itinerary

  • Riga Town Hall Square

    We start with a short history of Riga in the town square to set the scene for the tour

  • Monument 1905 The Fighters

    To understand Riga and Latvia you need to look back towards the end of the Russian Empire. 1905 is pivotal in Latvia's story.

  • Riga Radio and TV Tower (Pass By)

    Riding along the banks of the river Daugava on our 3pm tour, we get a great view towards Riga's TV and Radio tower.

  • Old Jewish Cemetery

    On our 15:00 tour we ride into the Moscow district. In the are that was the former Jewish Ghetto, we will visit the Old Jewish cemetery. The Moscow region also holds a lot of unique wooden housing.

Great 3 hours spent cycling round Riga area, guide was knowledgeable, witty and gave a local view if things whilst putting things in co text for the three different nationalities on the tour. His English was excellent and his historical knowledge great as well. Stopped half wqy at a garage where you could use the facilities and buy a coffee or bite to eat. Not too strenuous on the bike and a colleague followed at the back to make sure nobody was left behind. Quality of bikes were good, we had a mountain bike with front suspension (cobbles!) and decent gears and brakes, nothing too fancy but you don't need that around a city and the suburbs. Would definitely recommend to see a bit wider than just Riga town.
