Aurora Camp is located on a hilltop near Murphy Dome, one of the best Northern Lights viewing areas near Fairbanks and a favorite spot for many Aurora photographers. During this tour, you'll sit in a cozy, warm Alaskan-style cabin and watch the Northern Lights. The cabin has six huge windows facing the north, with a view of over 180°. Itinerary

******We accept bookings AUG. 21 through APR. 10, please select your tour day according to the valid time****** You will sit in our cozy and 180° mountain view Alaskan style cabin during your visit. While you are waiting inside, please feel free to enjoy some tea, hot chocolate, coffee, snacks, and cup noodles provided in the cabin. There are also board games, karaoke, and projector movies (as you requested). We will also provide free photography for you with Lady Aurora. We will confirm more information with you on the same tour day. If you book a transfer service, we usually leave around 9:00 to 9:30 p.m. Please keep in mind that we can be flexible to meet your needs (such as your need to go to the airport after the tour).

Great Experience

Joy and her husband are amazing. Snacks, coffee, hot chocolate, water, and tea provided. Hotdogs and pizza. A beautiful warm clean cabin with lots of games and her monitoring the aurora so you can sit warm comfortably inside. I paid for transportation which was well worth it!

Honestly, it was best choice for Aurora experience. We are welcomed and felt comfortable while we are waiting for Aurora. The host Joy and David were awesome, they are very friendly trying to provide us comfy. They are very family friendly. I would recommend here for Aurora experience!

Bucket list adventure

Driver picked us up at our rental. Drove to the viewing cabin. We were able to stay warm and view the sky from inside. The snacks and clean restroom were a nice addition. The guide was great with camera tips and photo advice. It was cloudy and seeing lights was difficult at best .We did see a green glow but no ribbons dancing in the sky. Can't control the weather. I enjoyed this method rather than sitting in a van, however you are in one spot and can't really "chase" the aurora. The warm cabin was the best and being able to just ride back to the rental. Not the best driver on snow covered roads in the dark being from Louisiana. I would do this again, maybe better luck with the weather next time.

Very organized, very friendly and super knowledgeable about the Aurora. The cabin is THE BEST! To keep warm in between enjoying the lights. Its in a perfect space. Photos of us by David were so easy, fun, and professional! Joy was friendly, happy and did a great job communicating with us. We are local Alaskans and brought our friends from Nashville. Highly recommend. I know there are a lot of choices but you cannot go wrong with this!

Cabin felt like home

Our trip up to the camp was beautiful through snowy tree lines up the mountain. We recommend if you aren’t used to driving in some icier conditions to take the time and use their shuttle. We enjoyed the lovely cabin very much. There were tables and comfortable couches. The cabin stayed very warm and there were plenty of great snacks. Joy and her family were so warm and welcoming. We didn’t get a chance to see the aurora due to clouds and an incoming snow storm but we still really enjoyed our time at the cabin and felt incredibly comfortable. There were lots of board games to play while we waited for a chance at a break in the clouds. Even though we didn’t get a chance to see the aurora, the experience was wonderful.
