Come spend a day following the Australian footsteps across the Somme. Our small groups allow time for visits to a special cemetery or follow the actions of a unique soldier.   • Serre Road Cemetery No.2

    The largest Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in the Somme.

  • Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial

    A Memorial Park for the Newfoundland Regiment where the battlefield has been preserved as it was, here we walk through authentic trenches used on 1st July 1916, the fist day of the Batlle of the Somme.

  • Memorial de Thiepval

    Commemorating over 73,000 missing of the British Army, mainly from the horrendous year - 1916 - the Battle of the Somme.

  • Windmill Memorial

    The highest point in the Somme. The triangle of farm fields facing the Windmill Site contain the greatest concentration of Australians fallen, from all battlefields across the Western Front.

    Pozieres is where the Australian 1st Division first went into battle on the Western Front - 23rd July 1916.

This is a journey every Australian should take, and thanks to Phil from "Out in the Somme Day" tours, with his expertise, preparation and knowledge it was extremely rewarding. Phil also made the effort to locate a grave of a relative for a friend accompanying us which she was most grateful for. For one with a military background and who always had the desire to visit the Western Front, I found this tour the perfect way to see it.
