Our guide for the day was Ely. He was a really friendly guy who had some great stories and facts about the area to tell. I also had some good conversations with him during the stops. We stopped at different places on the way up for comfort breaks, lunch, and serval photos opportunities. We were so lucky to see 4 bears during the trip, as well as a large Raven, mountain goats, and ground squirrels. Be prepared to dress correctly when going to the glacier as it’s 10 degrees colder than the temperature at the visitor centre. The huge ice truck takes you up and back, you are only on the glacier for 15 minutes for photos and a drink of glacial water. Next you are bused to the skywalk which takes about 10 minutes to drive. The views are fantastic, also the staff are great helping and encouraging visitors who are not confident to do the skywalk. My wife was unsure whether she could manage it or not but the 2 female staff were brilliant and she made it. Another must to do when visiting Banff or Jasper.

Chris was an amazing guide during our trip to Athabasca Glacier at Banff National Park! He was very enthusiastic and clearly had a passion for his job; he gave a great explanation with regards to the history of the glacier as well as regarding the geology and wildlife of the area.

This tour was an amazing start to our Banff vacation. We enjoyed seeing beautiful lakes on the way up to the Columbia Ice Fields Discovery Center. We had a picnic lunch on the way. Our guide, Andy, shared a lot of history and great information about the area. At the Discovery Center we shuttled to the Ice Explorer which took us onto the Athabasca glacier. Such an amazing experience. We were also taken to the glacier skywalk. Then we boarded our bus to make our way back to Banff. It was such an incredible experience.

Had an amazing day with Bobby. He made sure we were comfortable and informed all day long. The drive was scenic with many beautiful stops. The glacier was incredible and once in a lifetime. Lots of wildlife to see! Worth every penny. Thanks Bobby!

The Athabasca Glacier is a Unique Adventure where you ride on to the Glacier in a Giant Arctic Bus. It is near Banff and it is very convenient to join the Trip. Standing on Millions of pounds of ice is very humbling. Take many photos on the Glacier as it gets smaller every yera, and will eventually be gone.
