Plaza Nueva
Plaza Nueva is probably the most central and busiest square in Granada (perhaps next to Plaza Bib-Rambla), with a cosmopolitan air and a special charm that together with its strategic historical and tourist enclave, being in the middle of the modern Gran VĂa, calle Reyes CatĂłlicos, ancient Elvira street and the most famous of all: Carrera del Darro, makes it a key point in the city of Granada

Carrera del Darro
One of the most famous streets in the city, it runs parallel to the river that gives it its name, derived from Dauro (Gold) and it is considered on several occasions by prestigious travel magazine one of the most beautiful streets in Spain and the world. On the opposite side of the river are numerous Muslim, Moorish and Christian palaces that are currently hotels, cafeterias or bars and museums.

El Banuelo
Traditionally, it has been dated to the 11th century, that is, the zirà stage is part of a second construction stage of the zirà dynasty, corresponding to the reigns of Badis and Abd Allah (1038-1090). In it we can see the ritual of physical and spiritual cleansing. One of the best preserved public Arab baths on the peninsula. The Hammam al-Yawza or Bano del Nogal has been known since the late 19th century with the diminutive of Bañuelo for being smaller than the Alhambra's royal baths.
25 minutes
Casa Morisca de Horno de Oro
The so-called Moorish House on Calle Horno de Oro is actually a small Nasrid house on one level, to which a second floor was added in the 16th century. It is located in the Horno del Oro alley, in the Axares neighborhood, a street that goes down from San Juan de los Reyes to Paseo de los Tristes.
25 minutes
Mirador de San Nicolas
It is the granadino viewpoint par excellence. No one passing through Granada can miss a glimpse of the entire city perspective, the Alhambra in the background and behind Sierra Nevada. Bill Clinton himself expressed in one of his visits that it was the most beautiful sunset in the world and this is recorded in a plaza in that plaza. Both the afternoon and the night are very lively and fun in all the terraces and restaurants in this area of Albacin
15 minutes
Paseo de los Tristes
The Paseo de los Tristes, whose official name is Paseo del Padre ManjĂłn, is known by this name because it was the place where funeral processions passed on their way to the cemetery. To the left of the Paseo de los Tristes, in front of the Alhambra, was the neighborhood of Los Axares, which means "of health and delight", which they also called the Hospital of Africa, for its beauty and the temperance of its climate. You will find a lot of movement and bars in this square, which is always very lively and has magnificent views.
5 minutes
Plaza Larga
It is the most emblematic and typical square of the Albaicin from La Puerta de las Pesas, Puerta Nueva, or Arco de las pesas located at one of the entrances to the current Plaza Larga, it was also called del Ensanche (Bab Al Ziyada). It is one of the first corner doors of Hispanic-Muslim architecture and was one of the access points to the ZirĂ wall, which separated the AlbaicĂn from the Alcazaba Qadima (Vieja) neighborhood. All the idiosyncrasy of the people of Albaicin can be found in this square

Breathtaking experience!
Published on Apr, 2023
Our experience in Granada was fantastic. Both tour guides were amazing. Our morning tour of the Alhambra was memorable thanks in great part to Carlos our tour guide. His knowledge of the history of Alhambra was beyond impressive. He share factual information as well as folkloric tales which made the whole experience valuable, interesting and funny. Carlos maintained a comfortable pace to aloud time for plenty of pictures, questions and ample time to soak the immense beauty of the grounds. Truly remarkable experience. Our evening tour of the Albaicin with Alexandra was great as well. She was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to accommodate a big group of Italians who were in our group while keeping the tour interesting for us as well. Thanks Alexandra!
