Overview

We all know that Downtown Abbey and Downtown Village are in beautiful Oxfordshire and whilst we do tours there also, there are many Downtown Abbey related locations in Central London itself. This 3 hour walking tour will take you to some of the locations used in Downtown Abbey as well as Mr. Selfridge and The Halcyon. Group Maximum 15 Travelers

Meeting Point

Come out of the tube station right outside the ticket barriers. Your guide will be waiting. Of course we are happy to meet you at your London hotel.

End Point

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

Pickup Details

We'd come to your hotel and meet you in the Lobby before going by Underground to the tour starting point at Holborn Station.

What To Expect

1. Lincoln's Inn Fields Multiple filming locations used in Downton Abbey 20 minutes

2. Middle Temple Hall We will explore Middle Temple were many scenes were shot, standing in for the city of York 25 minutes

3. Whitehall See where Lady Mary went for her weekend away in Liverpool 5 minutes

4. Horse Guards Parade at Whitehall We will see the beautiful ceremonial parade ground, 5 minutes

5. St. James's Park Often used for picturesque walks by the ladies of Downton Abbey. 15 minutes

6. Lancaster House This ornate building stands in for Buckingham Palace in Downton Abbey. 5 minutes

7. Buckingham Palace Just one of the many famous sights we will see on our walk. 5 minutes

8. Green Park Visit the outside of the London residence of the Crawley Family. 10 minutes

9. Albert Memorial The largest and most magnificent memorial to a Royal Family member. 10 minutes

10. Wellington Arch We'll walk through this beautiful ceremonial archway at the centre of London. 5 minutes

11. Belgrave Square Home of Aunt Rosamund 10 minutes

12. Kensington Gardens The beautiful park has been used in Downton Abbey and many other shows. 15 minutes

13. Peter Pan Statue Lady Mary specifically chooses this secluded spot to break-up without causing a scene. 5 minutes

14. Hyde Park Visit spots from Downton Abbey including where the family had their family picnic and where Lady Mary broke up with Lord Gillingham 25 minutes

We have earmarked this tour as especially safe during the Coronavirus outbreak due to generally quiet places that we visit where social distancing is generally not a problem. All of our tours are private so it is just you/your family and your guide. To make it easier and safer for all concerned we would suggest starting this tour a little later than the usual time, perhaps around 10.30-11am which allows us all to miss rush-hour. We are happy to still come to your hotel to meet you but for the moment we would suggest meeting us at the tour starting point. This allows you to arrive by a taxi or uber rather than public transport. Please feel free to wear masks throughout or at times during the tour. Your guide will also have a mask with them.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
