Overview

Spending the winter season in France (& of course Bordeaux) is a magical experience. From the countless dishes oozing with melted cheese to the luscious and comforting hot chocolates in every corner, Bordeaux is a winter foodie's paradise! On this tour, expect to try a variety of local french food that warms the soul while also learning about the city's history. -All tours will be done in English - Family friendly tour! -A carefully curated tour that involves delicious high quality french food products. - The tour will end in a wine cellar with a comforting raclette (melted cheese) and wine pairing. - total walking - around 3-3.5km in total. - Thursdays to Saturdays 15h00 - 18h30 -7 stops. All food and wine included - Intimate group of no more than 8 persons per tour Note: We are able to adapt the tour for specific dietary restrictions (vegetarians, gluten free) however this tour is not suitable for vegans.     Pey Berland is a historic square located in the very heart of Bordeaux. Named after the Pey Berland Tower, this lively square offers a mix of architectural beauty, cultural significance, and vibrant energy. On this square, we will talk about the bell tower, the Saint Andre Cathedral and the famous weddings that took place here. Here, closeby to the cathedral we will try the best cannelés in town

    Saint-André Cathedral, an architectural m masterpiece and found right in the center of Bordeaux. Not only does it stand as as a beacon of faith but also holds significance along the historic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Moreover, it is also where some of the middle ages' most iconic weddings took place.

    This arched Gate stands at the location of a historical entry point to the city, dating back to ancient times, including the Roman era. Today it stands as one of the city's most iconic monuments, definitely worth seeing.

    Located in the very heart of Bordeaux's golden triangle, this Grands Hommes showcases refined architecture, high-end shops, cultural venues, and some of the city's top dining establishments. During the 18th century, this area served as the bustling old market of the city though over time, as Bordeaux evolved, the market transformed into the elegant district that it is today.

    Place de la Comédie stands out as the grandest spot in Bordeaux, not just for its square but also for the stunning views it offers from every angle. Here, you'll find the famous Grand Théâtre (the opera) and the luxurious Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux facing each other (both also being home to 2 michelin star restaurants). From each corner, avenues stretch into the distance, revealing sights like the Monument aux Girondins at Place des Quinconces. Closeby to the opera, we will be trying different varieties of chocolates from one of the oldest chocolate institutions in Bordeaux

    Also known as the lungs of Bordeaux, this 11 hectare garden is home to a variety of different plant species, a perfect picnic destination and simply an oasis of calm amidst the bustling city.

Who doesn't love melted cheese?

The winter tour was such an amazing food experience. We went through a lot of very nice shops that served quality food and beverages. I loved the hot chocolate! It was perfect for the cool weather. But to top it all off, the raclette meal at the end of the tour was such an amazing filling and cozy reward. Alex's fun and insightful stories of Bordeaux adds so much to the tour that you'll feel the time pass by so quickly. Highly recommend this tour for any foodie in Bordeaux during the winter season.

Alexandra’s winter food tour is exquisite. She swooped us with velvety hot chocolate, vanilla-rich canelés, sweet and savory crepes, freshly melted cheese for raclette with the perfect wine to go with it.
