The visit and tasting at Quinta da Portela de Baixo consists of a visit to the Winery, Wine Cellar Museum, and a tasting of 6 wines produced on the farm (sparkling wine, DOC Douro white and red and three Port wines) harmonized with regional products (bôla, olive oil, cheese and jam) and even with the option of a tour through the two farms.

Likely the best winery tour and tasting we have ever enjoyed!

We have toured 100’s of wineries around the world and this is I’ll always keep a top spot of memorable visits! We were traveling with our special needs son and our guide (Christina) was so gracious and welcoming to us and our son. Some seem to tolerate him being with us. Others like Christina seem to enjoy his presence! We didn’t expect we were reviving a private tour when we booked this. As such finding the location was a little challenging as when we pulled in there were no other cars and we thought we must be in the wrong location. After retracing our route a little, we came back and Christina was outside waving at us. The tour showcased the traditional wine making methods and the history of the winery. The tasting was very generous and was paired with local foods for enjoyment! An absolutely amazing experience!

It was an excellent experience. Beautiful views. Generous and welcoming hospitality and wine tasting. Excellent tour just for the 2 of us. We left after more than 2 hours with a big smile

We loved our host Christina, she was very knowledgeable and fun! We had a gluten free person and she went out of her way to accommodate that.

Excellent wine and tour. Also got lost with Google directions, host accommodated us and offered us the tour at a later time.
