Overview

Tim your local tour guide, has studied ecology and zoology, and guarantees you a fun and inspiring tour. Explore the wonders of Magnetic Island's west coast, including wildlife, koala and conservation hot spots, history and World Heritage highlights, and everything in between. Complimentary tea, coffee and treats included! We will take a slow bus trip along the West Point road as we explore mangroves, forests, waterfalls, creeks, as well as historic and cultural sites. Some points of interest will vary according to tides and weather, (i.e., mangroves at high or low tide, and waterfalls in or out of wet season). Complimentary tea/coffee/juices and sweet treats are included. IMPORTANT! When booking your tour: 1. Please let us know which departure point you would like to be picked up from - Nelly Bay ferry terminal at 8.15am or 
Picnic Bay jetty at 8.30am. 2. If possible please use an Australian phone number and/or include your email address so that we can get in touch with you.

  • Magnetic Island

    Discover the other side of Magnetic Island that few people experience, on our fun & informative 3 hour guided West Coast 4WD Eco Bus Discovery Tour. ​ We will take a slow bus trip along the West Point road as we explore mangroves, forests, waterfalls, creeks, as well as historic and cultural sites. Some points of interest will vary according to tides and weather, (i.e., mangroves at high or low tide, and waterfalls in or out of wet season). A little low impact walking will be done during the tour, and may include 2 to 3 short walks through the mangroves, the salt mashes, along creek lines and along the beach at West Point. All walks will be easy in nature. This tour offers a more relaxing wander rather than an active adventure.

Excellent day out with Tim from Mi Ride

Tim is passionate and very knowledgeable with all things nature: flora and fauna. The west side of Maggie has so much to offer and Tim knows how to find the best of it. We learnt so much about the island and seeing a koala up close and 2 skates as well was brilliant.

A revelation in history, geology and nature

Tim gave us a friendly, interesting and well informed tour leading us to see things we would not have noticed ourselves and hearing all about them. The relaxed sit down for well chosen refreshments was a pleasure. A very positive experience we would highly recommend.

Tim was a great guide and so passionate and informative about the ecosystem on Magnetic there were many spontaneous stops along the way to check out all kinds of fascinating plants, trees, insects and wildlife capped off with a tasty morning tea well done Tim.

Tim is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide who enjoys educating and showing visitors the quiet side of Magnetic Island. He pointed out a variety of trees, plants, animals and environments along the way as well as talking about the history and infrastructure of the island. For me the highlight was seeing a Blood Tree that leaked a lot of brilliant red sap.
