Overview

You will have the chance to visualize the daily life of The Ottoman Folks covering the route off the beaten path in the old town of Istanbul. The tour will cover the sites and commercial hubs such as Hippodrome Square, Sogukcesme Street, Caferaga Madrasa, Spice Market, Rustem Pasha Mosque, Buyuk Valide Han, Zincirli Han, and Theodosius Cistern. These are the lesser-known parts of the town which are filled with locals who carry on with their day-to-day activities.   • Hippodrome

    Byzantine Hippodrome / Sultanahmet Square; where chariot races were held in Roman Empire times, Egyptian Column from Byzantine Empire time. Today German Fountain is cornerstone of square.

  • Sogukcesme Sokak (Pass By)

    One of Istanbul's most picturesque streets, Sogukcesme Street, is located in the Sultanahmet district. Also, Sogukcesme street is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The nine wooden houses on Sogukcesme Street are used as hotels, and the Roman cistern is used as a restaurant.

  • Caferaga Medresesi

    The Caferaga Madrasa which has 15 classrooms/exhibition rooms, a big salon and a garden where traditional Turkish handicrafts such as calligraphy, ceramics, jewelry and so forth are taught, made and sold,is located next to the Hagia Sophia.

  • Rustem Pasha Mosque

    Is a hidden gem of a mosque that has been thought of as a little Blue Mosque, but without the crowds. It's a little difficult to find, but it's definitely worth the effort - the remarkable beauty of the interior is matched by the sense of discovering a quiet sanctuary in the middle of the city's hectic pace.

  • Misir Carsisi (Spice Market)

    Spice Market; is a colorful indoor bazaar and has lots of shops offering a variety of products. Some of them are spices, purses, flavored teas, Turkish delight, nuts, as well as ceramics, and small souvenirs. Spice Bazaar is located in Eminonu Square which is the connection place of Bosphorus and Golden Horn.

  • Buyuk Valide Han

    The Büyük Valide Han is Istanbul's largest historic han (caravanserai). The place, which was a form of urban caravanserai, was a common type of commercial structure in Ottoman architecture that offered a variety of jobs such as accommodation for foreign merchants, storage for commodities or trade, housing for artisan workshops, and offices from which to conduct business.

Zincirli Han is one of the most magnificent views to behold. This location is incredibly active and authentic.
