Overview

Welcome to our must-see excursion, Trollstigen, The Land Of The Trolls. This is a 6-hour- and 50-minute trip with many breathtaking photo shoot stops. We offer 7 stops. We do sell water, sodas, and some snacks on our buses.

Meeting points

Our office, second floor, is open from 08:00 days with trips to Trollstigen. Check-in and tickets.

Itinerary

  • Skodje Bridges

    5. Our first stop will be the old Skodje bridges. We stop on one side and you can hike through the area over 2 bridges and a tunnell. The bus will wait for you on the other side.

    10. ViewPoint by the sea On our way to ViewPoint by the sea, we pass the old Rose Church in Stordal. Built in year 1789. Another fantastic ViewPoint close to Liabygda. Down to the left, you can see a salmon fishfarm, to the right, we see the town Stranda where the Grandiosa pizza-factory is located. Across the fjord, we see the fjord going to Geiranger and Hellesylt. Up on the mountain to the left, you can see the mountain farm Skrednakken. This is the farm our Norwegian Queen Sonja visited some years ago. Don't forget to take some nice photos.

  • Gudbrandsjuvet

    20. Gudbrandsjuvet is a river gorge in the river Valldøla. The watery river flows between gorges and cracks in the mountain and meets from rather unexpected angles, before it flows under the bridge and plunges further down the valley. The gully is partly formed by several large potholes. The water feature is a tourist attraction, and platforms and bridges have been built in a mixture of glass and rust-corroded iron in both walls and floors. Here is a cafeteria and also free toilets available. You must try their Salmon baguette. So good !

    25. The old bridge by Krikebrua Mother Nature ! I think this is one of the most fantastic stop on our trip. We stop on a small place with a free toilet and some benches for rest. Then we hike together about 3 to 4 minutes on the other side of the road. There we will see an old bridge (built in 1891) and a gorgeous waterfall and river above. The bridge is built of rocks only in 1891. No concrete or steel inside the construction. Please use the bins in the bus for your garbage.

  • Trollstigen

    30. Trollstigen ViewPoints is the main stop on our trip. There are 2 ViewPoints available, one is about 5 Minutes of walking, and the best one is about 10 Minutes of walking from the bus. The path to these viewpoints is laid in concrete and has solid safety fences around it. A souvenir shop and free toilets are also available in Trollstigen. There is also a cafeteria selling sandwiches, coffee and soft-ice cream. Hot meals are available here.

    80. After our stop at Trollstigen, we have to go back again against Valldal. We plan for a stop there with restrooms available.

  • Fjellstua Viewpoint

    90. Aksla Viewpoint is our last stop this day. We stop for photos from the most famous viewpoint around Ålesund.

Rerouted but still excellent

Even though the original booked tour was rerouted due to road closures we had a great time. Good dialogue from driver, nice lunch and awesome scenery

Best tour in Norway

Honestly a highlight of our trip on the cruise. The driver was amazing, even though the trollstigen was closed we did another route around the fjord and ski resorts. Can’t recommend enough to do!! Thank you heaps for the amazing day. Worth every penny

Cruise ship savings excursion

There was early snow so we did the alternate tour that was offered as the road to Trollstigen was closed. What we saw driving that day was so beautiful I do not feel we missed out on anything. Our driver was very nice and told us all kinds of interesting information about the country. The panic lunch was a sandwich, cookie and beverage. We had a great day and the timing was all mapped out perfectly and we were back in time to get on our cruise ship. Very professional company.

Alesund and surrounding area tour

Our tour had to be changed due to the closure of the troll road, but the tour we received in place of that was great. The guides were knowledgeable and great to talk to. I think we likely got to see more than we would have otherwise.

Scenic route through troll country

A lovely and scenic route through the part of Norway also known as the land of the Trolls. The guide tells a lot of stories about the area and specific landmarks. The trip is mostly by car, but there are frequent stops to enjoy the countryside.
