Starting in Nazaré, we will then head to Tomar, a city steeped in history that is home to the magnificent Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage site dating back to the 12th century. Our next stop is the charming town of Fátima, a significant pilgrimage site for Catholics worldwide. Here, we will visit the impressive Basilica of Our Lady of Fátima. We will then discover the remarkable Monastery of Batalha, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, and admire its Gothic architecture and intricate stonework. Our tour will also take us to the impressive Alcobaça Monastery. Finally, we will stroll through the enchanting medieval town of Óbidos, renowned for its whitewashed houses, and picturesque castle walls.

    Fatima - One of the most emblematic Catholic shrines in the world. We will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary which was built to commemorate the apparition of the Virgin Mary to the Three Little Shepherds. On the other side stands the newly built Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, the fourth largest Catholic temple in the world in capacity.

  • Batalha Monastery

    His exceptional architectural ensemble is the result of the fulfillment of a promise made by King JoĂŁo I of Portugal in gratitude for the victory in Aljubarrota, a battle fought on August 14th, 1385, which secured the throne and guaranteed the independence of Portugal. It is one of the most beautiful works of Gothic and Manueline architecture. Nowadays, Batalha Monastery is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Castelo de Obidos

    Ă“bidos is one of the most perfect examples of our medieval fortress. It s in olden times, the town is entered through the southern gate of Santa Maria, embellished with eighteenth-century azulejo decoration. Inside the walls, which at sunset take on a golden colouring, one can sense a cheerful medieval ambience of winding streets, old whitewashed houses bordered with blue or yellow, Manueline embrasures and windows, reminding us that King D. Manuel I (sixteenth century) carried out major works here, and masses of colourful flowers and plants.

Immerse yourself in the wonders of Portuguese hospitality and culture

Rodrigo was THE best guide you could wish for. His knowledge, care and professionlism was outstanding and no request was too great or too challenging for him to fulfill. We signed on for the Tomar, Fatima, Batalha trip and Rodrigo was able to cater to our every need. He took great care of all members of our party ensuring that there was something for everyone to enjoy. He was able to accommodate suitable excursions for the members of our group with limited mobility allowing a fully immersive experience of the beauty of Portuguese culture. Rodrigo was also able to accommodate our request for a wine tour, creating a wonderful experience with a local vineyard, Quinta da Badula where the wines were outstanding and the hospitality warm and welcoming. Rodrigo also arranged spectacular meals at the Costa Brava restaurant. In short, if Rodrigo recommends or has a hand in organising a trip I have no doubt it will be spectacular! We cannot recommend him highly enough.
