Try unmissable Greek foods such as traditional "koulouri" (circular bread), bougatsa (pastry with various fillings), pittas, stuffed sandwiches & also local sweets. Meet at the harbour of Thessaloniki and then head to an old bakery - a hidden gem that stands for three generations, for the first stop. Sample some typical Greek breakfast pastries and snacks and then head to the open market of the town. Through little streets and alleys full of history, you'll arrive at the "Kapani" (open from Monday to Saturday) a vibrant, colourful and historic place. Once you'll finish strolling the market, taste some very original street food and have the chance to hear some interesting stories from your guide. I had a private tour with Anatasia. It was a lovely way to learn about city & food, as well as try a few treats along the way. She was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

The food tour was fun and full of information and great food which we would have never experienced without the incredible guide. Sophie was knowledgeable about local cuisine and local history. My daughter and I both thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it as a great way to experience the food of Thessaloniki. Thank you.

Sophie was absolutely amazing on this tour. I was lucky enough to be the only one who booked so she was able to make it personal to me; which I appreciated. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for the best eats in the city while also getting an understanding of the history and culture.

Sophie was wonderful. There’s nothing like walking the streets with a local and being taken to tried and true cafes and bakeries. We were able to try so many different foods, frappe, we would never have found on our own. We walked thru several different open air bazaars, some with goods some with fresh food-fish, fruit, spices, teas. Would highly recommend if you’re in Thessaloniki! Can’t go wrong.
