    The Polyterrasse between the ETH and University of Zurich offers top views over the old town. The Polybahn (funicular) takes you up to the panorama terrace in front of the main building of the Federal Institute of Technology in just three minutes. Here you'll enjoy superb views of the city.

    Lindenhof is an oasis at the heart of the city that looks back on a moving history. This spot provides a glorious view of the Old Town, Grossmünster Church, City Hall, the Limmat river, the university and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.

    Stroll around on Zurich's most exclusive and famous shopping street. You find numerous boutiques, department stores and timepiece stores here, as well as at Paradeplatz – the Swiss banking center. Bahnhofstrasse is just as popular with locals and visitors, and it is always worth a visit. You can stroll relaxed along the lake in the summer as well as enjoy mulled wine or hot chocolate at every corner in the winter.

A good start in Zurich

Great tour. Good way to see the city. A little history and pretty sites. It lasted about 4 and 1/2 hours but was interesting and a great way to see this beautiful city. The boat ride was short, but nice. The view from the cable car was also nice.

Not only did he share the historical facts, there was also some trivia that he interspersed with the tour to keep it interesting.
