Overview

Thoroughly enjoy learning about the history of Turkey and tasting the local food in the Asian side of Istanbul. Explore Turkish food culture and taste local delicacies in Istanbul's both European and Asian sides. After a traditional Turkish breakfast hop on a ferry to get to Kadıköy on the Asian side to visit some of the city’s best specialized eateries and food markets and taste traditional dishes. Relax on board and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the old city and the islands while watching fellow passengers rushing for their job. This short ferry journey gives you an insider look at everyday life of local people. Our Tour is fun, informative and of course, delicious, this is so much more than a food tour – it’s a taste of the both continents all in one day!

Meeting Point

Your guide will meet you outside the entrance to Hamdi Restaurant in Eminönü which is right next to Spice Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı). 1 minute walk from Galata Bridge and Eminönü Tram Stop (Line T1)

What To Expect

1. Misir Carsisi (Spice Market) Our tour starts at the Egyptian Spice Market and your foodie guide take you to the stalls to buy items for your breakfast then walk through the market and end up in a cafe to enjoy your breakfast with traditional Turkish Tea. 15 minutes

2. Eminonu Square Taste traditional foods like Manti, Menemen, Kokoreç Künefe and Pickle. Our tour is well-prepared, and informed. You get the answers to every question and learn a lot of interesting information about the sights and food in Turkey. 15 minutes

3. Next take the ferry across the Bosphorous Straight to the Asian side of Istanbul. In this area, shops specialize in what they sell. You will watch the making of Turkish coffee.

4. KadIkoy CarsIsI 4.5 hours entertaining hours in English with lots of information and small samples in a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Kadıköy has a fascinating past and one of the most distinctive neighborhoods in Istanbul today famous for specialized local eateries. 3 hours

5. Kadikoy Iskelesi Our adventurous food journey ends in Kadıköy Ferry Terminal. Your guide helps you get the ferry back to starting point in European side or give you a recommendation of what to see next nearby. 30 minutes
