Great way to spend the day! We took the quick ferry from Sydney Harbor to the zoo. It was a beautiful ride. We then hopped a bus and rode to the zoo entrance-just a short ride. We got there right as the zoo opened so the crowds weren't bad at all. We were able to see all sorts of animals both native to Australia and to other Countries. The zoo is divided into sections like "African Animals" and "Australian Animals" so it was easy to see all of the animals we wanted to see. The zoo is very walkable but does have some hills and stairs so if you have mobility issues, you may want to consider that. There are some good food options toward the center of the zoo-just be careful if you take food outdoors as the ibis will steal your lunch right off the table (ask me how I know...) The zoo does close a bit on the early side-5pm, I believe, so get there early if you want to maximize your time. There is a nice gift shop, but it's pretty expensive. All in all, we had a wonderful time at Taronga zoo and would love to go back again some day!
