Overview

Just north of Phoenix, enjoy an approximate 45-minute hot air balloon ride over the Sonoran Desert. Once you arrive, watch as your balloon inflate. After your flight, relax with a champagne breakfast served on picnic tables with linens. Rides are shared with up to 20 travelers on board. This activity does take up to 4 hours.

Meeting points

We meet in the Fry's Marketplace parking lot located at 2800 W. Dove Valley Rd. Look for two unmarked Ford vans and a truck and trailer near the Fry's fuel station Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to tour time and we leave the parking lot promptly at scheduled tour time.

Begin your adventure by meeting your crew just north of Phoenix about 30 minutes before sunrise for this 4-hour experience. Take a short van ride to the launch area for this scenic flight. After you arrive, experience the inflation of the balloon by motorized fans as it grows to an enormous 11 stories tall. Once the envelope is filled with air, the propane burners are ignited to heat the air inside. It takes about thirty minutes before you are ready for flight. Join your pilot in the hand-crafted, oversized wicker basket with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy an approximate 45-minute ride. As you takeoff, admire how light the balloon feels. During the flight, you have an unobstructed view to take excellent photographs. Upon landing you are greeted with flutes of champagne and breakfast. First-time riders will be treated to the legendary ceremony that balloonists all over the world have been sharing for more than two centuries.

I received this as a Christmas gift and brought my daughter along for our trip. We had an amazing time. Make sure you do meet them early at the time they specify. They were super organized and let us know what was going to happen. The basket was clean and huge. My daughter and I got to help with some of the set up and it was super fun. We held the balloon open as the fans blew it open. The cloth from the balloon weighs about 1000 lbs ( a little less!). If you remember the parachute game you may have played in elementary school, it felt like a big game of that. The balloon ride was beautiful and our pilot was very knowledgeable about the area. We had a beautiful day and our ride was smooth . Everyone was very kind and we had a great time. Highly recommend.

The flight was AWESOME. Pilot took us to 5300 feet, we were the highest balloons that day. I highly recommend this to EVERYONE.

From watching the sunrise while filling the balloon, to take off thru landing, the entire ride was relaxing and beautiful. The only thing I would recommend improving would be the breakfast. The mimosas were great, but the food itself was a bit gross. But 5 stars for the trip. The captain and his crew were true professionals. I highly recommend.
