Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

Great Wineries, Amazing Guide, No driving!

Platypus picked us up and dropped us off right at our doorstep. We ventured to 3 lovely wineries with amazing wine. Casey, our guide, was both knowledgeable and fun. Our favorite stop was Backstage winery where we enjoyed our host Gabriel's humor and deep knowledge of wine, region and grape. The wine at Backstage was some of the best we tried!

Tony was a fantastic guide on our way around Napa Valley! He was so knowledgable about all things Napa and wine. We hit 3 amazing wineries and had the best time with our tastings.

Steve was a great host, he was funny, entertaining and informative. The lunch was good and I love that the unique wines!

Our driver Kelly planned a wonderful day for us. She selected three small wineries, each of which had very unique settings, atmosphere, and wines. We would not have found these places on our own, and they are now on our list of favorites. In addition, both Kelly and our winery hosts did an amazing job presenting the region and the art of winemaking to us. Each tour is a unique experience -- we will be back!
