Overview

You have local hereborn professional guide Heli who takes you 35 minutes drive away from Levi to genuine authentic wilderness village - her home. We see cosy cabin for snacks, awesome landscapes during our snowshoe walk, we play in the snow and take lots of pictures. We also meet the reindeers in traditional reindeer farm. This is how we local live here, no mass tourism around. I promise I do everything you to have most amazing day. I only do small groups, max 8 person so that quality is gonna be good for all of us.

Itinerary

We set off from the wilderness village of Lompolo on snowshoes through the forests and to the cosy hut by Lake Suksijärvi. There we roast sausages and marshmallows and enjoy them with authentic coffee brewn on open fire. As we wander through the snowy forest, all we hear is the sound of our snowshoes. When you stop, you can hear the sound of complete silence, have you ever heard it before? During the hike we may also see animals or the tracks they left in the snow. Then we try to identify which animal made them. After snowshoeing, we will go to learn about reindeer and reindeer herding at a local reindeer farm. Please note the activity is not suitable for children under 14 years old.

It was a nice tour with authentic and passionate tour guide Heli. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough snow for the snow shoes, but Heli fills the time with great activities. We had the opportunity to visit a reindeer farm with two very nice girls, walk on a frozen lake and afterwards Heli made a campfire with some yummy pancakes and sausages in her cozy little cabin. All in all it was a very great and personal experience I can only recommend:)

Fantastic reindeer farm experience

Went out to the reindeer farm and had a blast with the new reindeer and feeding them was an incredible experience. Got to walk a reindeer around by a lead and try our luck at lassoing. Wife got it on the first try. The snowshoe hike was great. Far more physical than it appears. Followed that up with some hot drink and sausages. We had a great time.
