Overview

Tango Porteño is an Argentinian Tango show from traditional to modern in a unique place just a few steps from the obelisk and the famous theater of Buenos Aires Colon. Pick up will begin between 8pm and 8:30pm from downtown hotels in a bus. This show includes a three-course dinner with beverages included all night long (wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee). You have different options of dishes to choose: Argentinian's chorizo steak, pasta, pork, chicken, vegetarian options. Be delighted with an amazing live orchestra, 6 couples of professional tango's dancers and 1 singer.

For $150.00 US for 2 people, we skipped the line to Tango Porteno show, had a 3 course meal (which I thought was very well done based on the amount of people they are serving), fun show with a mix of old and modern Tango, all the beer and wine you want plus a very good cocktail bar available (extra charge of course). Also included round trip transfer with a very nice driver and clean minibus. Venue was an absolutely gorgeous theatre next to the Obelisk. Yes touristy but such a great time! Highly recommend especially if it’s your first time in Buenos Aires!

Terrific Evening at Tango Porteno

The only negative part of this wonderful evening was that my specific hotel downtown was not listed in their drop-down menu for pick up. It allows you to type in your hotel name, which I did however no one arrived. I sent a message to confirm pick up through TripAdvisor and no one responded by text or in any other fashion. Besides that, it was a perfect evening. The appetizer, the steak I chose for dinner and the dessert were delicious. They filled up your wine glass or gave you a new bottle of cold water if you were running low, I never had to ask for service. I cannot say enough good things about the show after dinner. Between the costumes, the make up and grooming, and the precision performances, all were wonderful. And it wasn’t all Tango, it also included performance storytelling, and opened with a comedic mini-magic act. I have never been to such an event so I have nothing to compare it to, however, next time I am in Buenos Aires I will be hard-pressed to go anywhere else for a night such as this. I will definitely return to Tango Porteno.
