Snowmobile into the heart of Arctic Nature to stargaze and search for Ms. Aurora Borealis. After important safety instructions by your guide, the snowmobile will begin from the forest into the heart of the lake. Experience the vast openness and space of the frozen lake as an awesome spot to gaze towards the night sky. See all the sparkling stars and expect gasps of delight if Ms. Aurora Borealis decides to pay you a lucky visit. Tripods for great picture taking in the dark are also available upon request. Northern Lights is an unpredictable natural phenomenon, our professional will higher the chances of seeing it.  Note: Children under 140cm are travelling in the sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Children over 140cm could seat in the back of the snowmobile as passenger with full adult payment.

Itinerary

Snowmobile into the heart of a frozen Lake Vikajärvi as a perfect spot to stargaze and search for Ms. Aurora Borealis. After important safety instructions by your guide, the snowmobile will begin from the forest into the heart of the lake. Experience the vast openness and space of the frozen lake as an awesome spot to gaze towards the night sky. See all the sparkling stars and expect gasps of delight if Ms. Aurora Borealis decides to pay you a lucky visit. Tripods for great picture taking in the dark are also available upon request. Keep in mind the Northern Lights is an unpredictable natural phenomenon in which nobody can 100% guarantee. However, our professional experiences and forecasting allow the chances for sightings to be higher. Note: Driving license is required. Children under 140cm are travelling in the sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile.

  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • Operated in Rovaniemi each year from November 16 to April 12 next year (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 full paying adults’ price.
  • Each person who will drive the snowmobile should hold a valid driving license. For the person who doesn’t hold a valid driving license, please contact with Sunny Safari for other solutions.
  • If two person per snowmobile, passenger and driver could switch during the break of driving. For the group which has an odd number of customers, we highly recommend purchasing a single driving supplement.
  • Snowmobile drivers are responsible for any damages caused to the vehicle. Please refer to the indemnity clause for details.
  • During the snowmobile safari, children need to traveling in the sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile, and we highly recommend that at least one adult to sit with a very young child together for the safety. If a child is over 140cm and wants to sit in the snowmobile as a passenger, a full adult price will be charged (according to the availability).
  • The Northern Lights is an unpredictable natural phenomenon that no one can guarantee the inevitability of seeing it. However, our professional experiences and forecasting allow the chances for sightings to be higher.
  • Please wearing enough warm clothes and preparing to stay outdoors for around 2 hours.
  • Duration includes the transfer and clothes changing time. Pick up service is included if the distance from pick up point to Rovaniemi city center is within 8km. Thermal overalls, winter boots, winter gloves, woolen socks, helmets and masks are provided.
  • Meeting time of our safari is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services. You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.

Amazing Aurora chase on snowmobiles

We wanted to express our gratitude to Sunny Safari for an amazing experience snowmobiling to search for Northern Lights. Sami and Carlos were very friendly and helpful and did a great job in maximizing our time to spot the Northern Lights deep in the woods of Lapland. Highly recommend!

Carlos was a great guide. It's similar to riding a jetski, be sure to accelerate and keep the throttle open when turning!

Norther Light bagged!!

It was all snowy the day we chose to snowmobile and weren't expecting any northern light show during the activity however our guide didn't give up on any chance and drove us further north where we witnessed the magic of aurora. It was all worth it and would highly recommend this. The activity was executed in timely fashion - from pick up all the way to drop off, included everything mentioned in the descrption.
