Overview

Excursion to discover the most beautiful baroque cities of Eastern Sicily, declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will visit Ragusa Ibla, with its alleyways and beautiful churches; Modica, famous around the world for chocolate prepared according to an ancient Aztec recipe; During the visit there will be a sweet break in a famous workshop, where the chocolate is still prepared according to the original recipe, imported from the Spanish people in 1500. Tour in the workshop and then tasting of the famous chocolate of Modica.

    Ragusa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the nicest Baroque towns in Noto Valley. Completely destroyed during the terrible earthquake of 1693, it was rebuild in a late baroque style and it is full of narrow lanes, beautiful building and churches.

Very good tour

Everything was perfect. Modica, Ragusa and Scicly are beutiful historical towns which are worth visiting. The guide was qualified and funny.

One of the best days out I have ever had. My wife and me are mega fans of Montalbano and we were not disappointed. The three beautiful towns of Radusa, Monica and Scicli plus Punta Secca, where Montalbano’s home was set. Our guide, Paulo was a very friendly and knowledgeable man. I think he was surprised to find that the only UK people on the trip were the show’ biggest fans. As well as focusing on filming locations, we were shown the incredible architecture, inside and out of the cathedrals in these stunning towns. It was a blistering hot Sicilian day and the beach outside Montalbano’s house was packed! Unlike in the show where it’s only ever him. All credit to Paulo the guide, Roberto the driver and Viator the company.

Enjoyable visit to historic towns

We enjoyed this tour. Our driver Damiano was excellent with a comfortable and clean minivan. In Ragusa, Marco gave a very thorough and knowledgeable tour. There is a two hour break for lunch, and Marco recommended a restaurant that we really enjoyed. In Modica, Eleonora was a delightful tour guide. We had no idea the history of Modica was so fascinating. The chocolate tasting was very good, and the shop is a good place to buy gifts. We toured the police office in Scicli where Montalbano was filmed, and that was a highlight. Throughout the tour there were references to Montalbano TV shows.

This was an easy way to view three incredibly gorgeous towns. Guide Giuliana and driver Salvo kept a nice leisurely pace while showing off the highlights of all of them. The included light lunch was actually huge and delicious. In October the group was only 6 people - lovely experience.
