Driving by private car through authentic mountain villages, you will visit local honey farm and taste the produce of the fertile volcano terrain, and finally reach “Rifugio Sapienza” at 2000mt. Here you can visit famous Silvestri Craters, admire unforgettable panoramas, visit shops with souvenirs of lava, refresh yourself at some restaurant or bar. Optional ascent with cable car and jeep with the authorized Alpine Guide to 3000mt. Syracuse (Pass By)

Your private local licensed guide will pick you up at your accommodation/port in Syracuse, and you will start your wonderful private travel to the highest active volcano in Europe. Driving by comfortable, air-conditioned car through the small authentic mountain villages, you will admire unforgettable picturesque views of Sicilian countryside full of oranges and lemon plantations, olives and almond trees, houses and churches built of lava stone. Enjoying amazing sea view and lava fields, you will arrive to a charming mountain town Zafferana Etnea, where you will visit local honey store and taste the produce of the fertile volcano land - honey, olive oils, olives, wines and liquors.
Mount Etna

You will continue to ascend Etna reaching "Rifugio Sapienza" station at 2000mt. Here you will visit famous Silvestri Craters, admire breathtaking panoramas, visit souvenir shops offering gifts of lava, refresh yourself in some bar or restaurant. Optional ascent by cable car/4X4 with an authorized Alpine guide to 3000mt. After visiting Mt.Etna, the guide will chauffeur you in relax to one of the best wineries on Etna slope. At the winery you will have will have a tour of the estate, see how the grape is growing, and visit the cellars, while the expert sommelier explains you all about the wine making process and the history of this family run winery. Then you will have traditional delicious lunch of locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, fresh bread, olives and olive oil and a typical pasta dish. A professional sommelier will offer you 4 glasses of Sicilian Etna red and white wines. After your private tour, your guide will drop you off at your accommodation or port in Siracusa.

Our guide Corrado was excellent. The tour catered for my young children and the views were incredible. The lava cave was a firm favourite with the children! After the Etna tour we visited a winery for lunch and wine tasting and again service was excellent.

This is a wonderful experience and Corrado is a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. His English is excellent. We did the walking tour of Mt Etna and was able to go into small caves left from hot lava. We loved the small winery. The wine is delicious and can be shipped to the states. It is small and family owned. Our experience was intimate and fun.

Corrado was an excellent and knowledgable guide who tailored the experience to what we were interested in seeing. He picked us up from our accommodation and made us feel comfortable from the start. The trip itself was amazing - Etna was incredible and the winery was special. If I could recommend one tour whilst in Scilly, it would definitely be this one!

Mount Etna and More

Corrado was very knowledgeable about the history of Mount Etna. We saw the various craters but chose not to do the extended tour to the higher elevation. We felt we had plenty of opportunity to get the flavor of the experience without it. Also had an amazing lunch at a winery and stopped at a place where they made honey. A very eventful day!

Great mount etna and wine experience

My husband and I love to hike and love wine. So this was the perfect putting for us. Our guide, Corrado was very helpful and informative and tailored the experience to us. Currently I’m pregnant so we couldn’t do any strenuous hiking so he took us around the craters on the lower part of mount etna and to see some sculptures before heading down to a local winery. The winery had some great wine and food. Would recommend for anyone looking to do a light hike or go to the top of mt etna.
