Built at the end of the 15th century, during the reign of the King of France Charles VIII who began the Italian Wars, the Porte Cailhau is also a triumphal arch to the glory of the king, victorious at the Battle of Fornoue in 1495, in the province of Parma. You can admire the statue of the sovereign towards the Garonne, accompanied by his coat of arms on the facade facing the city.
It’s obvious, it doesn’t have the look of the cathedrals of Ile de France. Difficult for it to compete with Amiens, Chartres or Reims, however its heterogeneous appearance has something unexpected and endearing, particularly with its independent bell tower.
Palais de Justice (Pass By)
The judicial center of Bordeaux is notably made up of the Palais de Justice, a monumental building which symbolizes justice. A place rich in stories, big and small, tragic and often little-known or unspoken, now symbols of human rights.
