Overview

Leave life in the city behind, reunite with nature and have an amazing day outdoors by listening to bird songs, sounds of running water in the creeks and just simply hearing wind in the tree leaves. The hike starts in Sigulda town and goes through the the biggest and most diverse nature parks of Latvia - "Gauja National Park". Your hike will begin with visiting the historical Sigulda medieval castle ruins before immersing into the world of small trails, views, forests, meadows and variety of vegetation like different plants, flowers and mushrooms. Distance of the hike is ~15 km (89% nature; 20% city). Terrain is hilly, but not difficult - foot paths and stairs. Total ascent during the hike is ~100 m.

  • Gauja National Park (Pass By)

    Have a day out in the nature enjoying green forests, meadows, river Gauja valley and listen to bird songs while having a relaxing walk.

  • Castle Of The Livonian Order In Sigulda

    Visit the medieval castle ruins and admire more than 800-year-old walls still standing. Be amazed by the view out of the castle watch tower.

  • Gutmanis Cave

    Admire the colorful sandstone cave (grotto) with ancient inscriptions on the walls and hear a legend about the rose of Turaida.

  • Krimulda estate (Pass By)

    Walk through the peaceful and charming Krimulda estate and see the old Krimulda manor (exterior only).

Two great days out

We've been on two tours with Rihard on our week holiday to Latvia, both were amazing. He is a brilliant guide, full of interesting information on the tours as well as places to eat and drink in Riga. We did the husky sled trip, luckily in snow which was fantastic. Plenty of time with the dogs before and a great little hike afterwards. Secondly we did the full day tour, castle, deer farm and a nature trail with a 5km walk through the national park. Reasonable prices and prompt collecting from a friendly guide, A* would definitely recommend.

They made it easy to organize a customized day tour. Excellent communication leading up to our event. Met us shipside. Could have told us to meet them outside the port, but Rihards went the extra mile and sought out permission to come into the port to meet us right off the gang way. Made it so much easier. Rihards Was an excellent guide. Had a lot of information and folklore to share with us during the entire day. Took us to all the requested stops and added in a few more as time allowed. Absolutely recommend this company for your tour needs.
