Clear filterGreat overview of the non-ancient Egyptian history of Cairo
Published on Feb, 2025
Was a great introduction to the city to learn about the bits you won't know from the normal touristy activities. Was great having our own driver and guide (2 different people) to take us around the city. It meant we could learn and chat to our guide whilst on the move. The car was about what you would get from an uber comfort in Cairo. The Egyptian food we had for lunch was tasty and authentic and we were given juice and water throughout the trip. A guide was called Abdu and he was great and adjusted the day for our needs. Would recommend if you have another day after seeing the Pyramids of Giza.

Pyramids & Islamic Cairo with Abdu
Published on Jan, 2025
I only had one day in Cairo and wanted to do the key historic site visits. Abdu was not only a fantastic guide with a great wealth of knowledge on Egyptian history but also a very good conversationalist during the tour and responsive when arranging the tours the day before. He was very flexible and accommodating to my schedule and preferences. We went to the pyramids in the morning and then to the citadel, the Khan el-Khalil bazaar, and Moez street in the afternoon. He has a driver with him so transportation was super easy. It was great to get the context/ historical background including the different theories of the pyramids, and the functions of each of the key monuments since there are very few plaques at these sites that tell you what they are. He also pointed out little details that I would have otherwise missed, which made the experience all the more enriching and fascinating. Since I didn’t have much time, it was great to have a guide who knows what the key highlights are and not miss the must-see ones. He also helped fend off people trying to sell you stuff at these tourist sites. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe. He was also a great personal photographer and took great photos at each site, so I highly recommend having him as a tour guide especially for a solo traveler!
Very good tour in Old Cairo
Published on Jan, 2025
The tour was great. Even better than I imagined. I was curious to learn more about the history of the Christian part of Egypt and I loved it! It was beautiful to go to the church where the Holy Family passed through in the past. We also visited a synagogue and a mosque and it was possible to understand better the dynamics of each religion in the country. Abdu was a great guide, punctual, polite and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend the tour.
Insights into Cairos religious history
Published on Jan, 2025
Abdu knows so many things about Cairo, history and the places we visited. It's a very special tour because you won't see the typical tourist side of the city. He told us all about religions in Cairo and what makes the places so special. We visited churches, a synagogue and a mosque. If you want to dig deeper into the history of the city this is the right tour.
