    We will meet a the cruise terminal or another preferred accommodation in Trieste and head directly to Postojna. A ride in a comfortable up to date clean and air conditioned private van or a minibus takes about 45 minutes. We accept only up to 20 persons for this excursion.

  • Postojna Cave

    As we arrive to Postojna your driver will escort you to the cave entrance, give you tickets (included in price) and you will join a group that will be guided in your preferred language by a local cave guide. The cave is so big you enter it with the small electric train (15 minutes ride). After that you will be guided trough the cave and there you will get some interesting facts and the history of this Slovenian gem. This part of guided tour lasts for about 1 hour on more or less flat surface.     After you come back from the cave you will have enough time to buy some souvenirs, have a coffee or snack, use the toilet, etc before you meet again with your driver/escort and head to the best preserved fairy tale cave Castle in the world with more than 800 years of history which is approx. 15 minutes of drive away. The castle was built under more than 100 meters high cliff and is considered as one of the most beautiful castles in the world. At the castle we will make a photostop for up to 45 min or do the castle audio guided tour upon whole group agreement.

Recommended Shore Excursion

Can't recommend this tour company and this experience enough! Peter was accommodating, informative and personable. He arranged for the tickets to the cave so we could avoid the lines and altered our itinerary after listening to our likes/preferences which truly made the day feel custom. The caves are fascinating and worth the visit.

Memorable experience for the whole family!

By far, one of the most memorable experiences of our 12 day cruise! Imagine traveling with a huge multigenerational family of 21 people! Most times, I liken the experience to “herding cats.” But this full day activity requiring two vans and two very special and capable tour guides was a favorite for all of us! All arrangements were made via email and communication was flawless from pre-planning to execution. Postonja Cave is bucket list and Predjama castle was quite interesting too! We also arranged a local afternoon bite at a seaside restaurant which was absolutely delicious and featured local delights! This private tour was enjoyed by the youngest (2 yrs old) and impressed the oldest (82 yrs old). The guides were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing their culture and history with pride. They certainly are worthy of a mention for their patience, courtesy and professionalism! This tour is highly recommended with 100% confidence!

I can highly recommend this tour. From the moment we booked it, we had contact with Peter. We met him at the port and he introduced us to his driver. Comfortable transport, very friendly and knowledgeable driver/guide. We had a great day. This is a must do tour and a great tour company to use.

Caves and castle tour with lunch in Pirat!

Enjoyed our day with our private group of 8 people - Maya was a great guide. The Postojna caves were amazing! some of the best I've ever seen - train ride, then a walk, then a train ride back out of the caves. (not strenuous) .Loved the Predjama Castle but not enough time ( I added too many stops to our custom trip) Stopped in Vinery VinaKoper and had lunch in Pirat - full day - 9 passenger Renault van - very comfortable with good A/C! would recommend Maya, Peter and their tour company !!

Marvelous experience. And Peter was the perfect host. He was responsible, punctual.& very knowledgeable about Trieste & Slovenia. He is really fluent in English. And, he is very fun to talk with. After 3 months traveling in Italy, this was a great experience. Definitely not to be missed.
