The highlight is the Palace of the Grand Master. Originally a Byzantine fortress, it was transformed into a residence by the Knights, restored under the Italian occupation following an explosion, and now houses a museum.

Excellent tour and Nick our guide was first class, incredibly knowledgeable and very entertaining. Timing was about right in terms of providing a good walk through of the palace and the history.

Nikos was an amazing guide! He’s an archeologist and provided excellent context and insight to many of the artifacts in the palace. His knowledge of the history was extensive and we learned so much more than just walking through the palace ourselves. We are so glad we chose to have a guide and grateful that it was Nikos!
