Overview

This is the first cooking workshop in Alicante, born in 2022. Unlike other cooking workshops we introduced the local Market as an important key of the cooking process. That´s why you will spend an hour in the Market buying the freshest ingredients and interacting with the stall owners, while you learn about the Spanish cuisine, history and traditions. Discover the best mediterranean flavours and recipes led by a local and proffesional chef and her assitant in her own venue. This is NOT an artificial venue made for tourists, but a local bussiness, where you could interact with other travellers and locals. Taste your own homemade paella, sangría and appetizers/tapas. Different paella flavours available (sea food, meat, or veg.). This is the best local gourmet experience to know firsthand the gastronomy and cuisine of Alicante! Local guide, local chef, local comerce, and local products, a perfect match.

Right in front of the Market´s gate, there is a civil war memorial. It is a big metal plate on the ground. The guide will be right there wearing a black T-shirt with write letters saying "Paella&Sangría cooking Workshop Alicante"

Itinerary

Immerse yourself in the best gastronomic and culinary experience of Alicante! Your journey will start with a guided tour in the local Market, learning about the the rich mediterranean cuisine, while you discover and buy the freshest ingredients in Alicante and interact with the owners of the stalls. Afterwards, roll up your sleeves for a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef and her assistant. You will discover the best Spanish flavours trying a variety of traditional tapas paired with your own hand made sangria. Choose your flavour (seafood, meat or veg.) and discover the art of making the best Paella (your own). As the icing on the cake, enjoying your own homemade paella, sangria and apperitives with other travellers in a friendly and local atmosphere. The cooking workshop was a blast! We began with a tour of the indoor market, which was amazing. Frederico was a great guide(he even helped me shop for Christmas presents in the market). The cooking class itself was enlightening; I’ll definitely try this at home.

We really enjoyed this experience and highly recommend it. Our tour leader, Federico, was great !!! He was fun and seemed to really enjoy sharing interesting details at the Mercado and about cooking. The final dishes that we made were excellent !

Meeting at the Market and walking & shopping with our guide Federico, was truly a fantastic experience. He then walked us to the restaurant where we assembled the meal and sangria. He was very informative and we all had a lot of laughs. Highly recommend!

A great experience cooking a Paella. We went around the market buying the various ingredients. It is a very impressive place to wander round for sure. Our guide was Freddie and was good at giving us insights. There were 18 of us so we were taking turns doing the various bits of preparation and cooking but everyone did something and we were cooking 3 paellas. Even better Freddie managed to make us look good as the resulting food (and Sangria) were really tasty. We then went on a castle tour with Maria and that was also really good. Her passion for her city and it's history really show. Would recommend this company for any of their tours. Thanks!
