Itinerary

  • Carfax Tower (Pass By)

Meet your guide at Carfax Tower. Also known as St Martin's Tower, its name originates from the French word 'carrefour', meaning crossroads. The tower is over 900 years old and has six bells which are rung by the Oxford Society of Change Ringers.

  • Christ Church (Pass By)

Founded by King Henry VIII, this college holds a unique position in Oxford as many of its alumni went onto become world leaders in the United Kingdom, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Harry Potter fans will enjoy taking snaps of the historic buildings which were filming locations of the iconic series.

  • Lincoln College (Pass By)

With alumni such as Dr Seuss, Edward Abraham and former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, this college is highly regarded for its programmes in English, history, biochemistry and more. Be sure to take a snap of the All Saints Church, which houses the college's stunning library, and is topped with one of the dreaming spires of the city.

  • Radcliffe Camera (Pass By)

See one of the enduring symbols of the city, Radcliffe Camera. It takes its name from both the physician John Radcliffe, and the Latin word 'camera', which means 'room'. The 250-year-old building serves as a reading room for the nearby Bodleian.

  • Bodleian Library (Pass By)

The Bodleian Library is one of the oldest libraries in Europe at over 400 years old. Founded by Sir Thomas Bodley, the library's world-leading collection includes a copy of the Magna Carta, a Gutenberg Bible and a first edition of Don Quixote. As you look up at the Bodleian, you may hear passing scholars refer to it as 'the Bodley' or simply 'the Bod'.

  • Clarendon Building (Pass By)

This neoclassical building housed the Oxford University Press until the early 19th century. Today, the Clarendon Building is part of the Bodleian Library and is used for administrative purposes. The building is topped with nine statues, some of which have fallen down over the centuries and were replaced with fibreglass copies. See if you can spot the statue of Lord Clarendon.

  • Bridge of Sighs (Pass By)

This iconic skyway, also known as the Hertford Bridge, links the old and new Quadrangles of Hertford College. It's named after the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, and while it's not open to the public, you'll often see students of the college crossing through. Make sure to take a snap of this striking landmark and one of Oxford's most popular sights.

  • University of Oxford (Pass By)

Pass by the University of Oxford, one of the oldest universities in the world and the oldest in the English-speaking world. Established over 900 years ago, admission to the university is highly sought after by prospective students from across the globe. Oxford alumni, known as Oxonians, have become world leaders, Olympic athletes, distinguished jurists and more.

  • High Street (Pass By)

Stroll down the High Street of Oxford, famous for its view of the dreaming spires and specialist local shops. Described as 'one of the world's great streets', you'll have the opportunity to take snaps of picturesque scenery, and see the colleges and more.
