Great tour—book if you like going at your own pace!

Great experience, very informational. The south-side tour isn’t as busy as the north-side tour, but it’s a lot of history to listen to while you drive the long stretches of the barrier island. The north side tour (kitty hawk, duck, corolla was a lot to look at and places to stop. 10/10!! 5stars!

Loved This Self-Guided Auto Tour of the Outer Banks

We’ve never done anything like this and are so glad we did! We drove down from Corolla and worked our way down then up from the starting point. The narrator’s voice was pleasant and the tour included interesting tidbits about the history and natural world around us, which made the drive a great experience! The GPS interface worked like magic. Our only minor complaint is that the narration often cut off before it finished as the next point of interest started, even though we drove the speed limit. Verdict: Well worth it if you want to take a drive and learn more about the Outer Banks.
