Immerse yourself in music heritage

Published on Jan, 2025

I truly loved this. Every turn of the head unveils another iconic piece of music equipment: the double bass in the Everly Brothers' hits, the score to "By the Time I get to Phoenix", the mobile recording studio used by Emmylou Harris, the organ played by "Bread, the Hammond organ used in "Son of a Preacher Man" and it goes on and on and on. The museum was pretty empty when I was there, loads of staff to answer questions. i found this much more rewarding than the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Amazing! A must see while downtown Nashville.

What an incredible museum! We have been to many music focused museums but this was by far the best. It focused on the real roots of the music, not just the flash and marketing side of music. There are many interactive displays and even the chance to record vocals, drums, guitar etc. Fantastic museum in a perfect location to enjoy while downtown Nashville.

If you really like the stories about music, this is the place. So much history!

Such an underrated museum. We loved the stories of each recording studio and the session players that made the music that we all know and love. It's not just a place to see a dress Taylor Swift wore to the Grammys or a jacket Jelly Roll wore once to the CMAs like other museums. It goes far deeper than that. I had multiple times during the tour that I couldn't believe what I was looking at. Guitars, drums, keyboards that have been played on the some of the biggest songs of all time. This tour is a great value too. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. I especially enjoyed it being a musician myself.
