Overview

Seville's #1 Espadrilles Experience! Explore the history of the traditional Spanish Espadrilles, stitch your own pair and take it home as the most amazing souvenir. A must-do in Seville according to BuzzFeed, The New York Times & many more. We will meet at our workshop filled with materials, tools and finished products. This is where you will become an insider on the history of this humble people's shoe that evolved into a major fashion trend. Together with master artisans you will craft your own pair of Espadrilles. Out of different combinations, you will chose the size of the base, the stitching style and the color and type of the laces, you will learn the different ways to lace them up! At the end, you will feel like a true artisan. You'll get a wearable memory of Seville hardly available to visitors and a really cool story to tell.

We will have the experience at our HANDMADE THE BRAND® in Seville, Calle Sierpes, known for artisanal and traditional products. We will have a big space for the guests and we will be surrounded by materials and finished products.

Itinerary

    First we will meet at the Entrance Hall where we will have a some drinks while you learn about the humble origins of this show that today is considered a luxury item in the fashion world.

    Then we will learn about the different traditional materials and we will choose the different colors, sizes and styles.

    20 minutes

  • Calle Sierpes

    Once ready, we are going to sit down on the Workshop tables and we will stitch our own traditional espadrilles, and then learn the different ways to lace them up.

    To finish our lovely experience we will open a bottle of champagne or cava, dance, take pictures with our new shoes and have fun! After all of this, each guest will leave with their own creation and with a really cool story to tell to friends, something that is hardly available to the visitors, not even locals. A wearable memory of Spain.

Wonderful immersive hour weaving espadrilles in Sevilla

This espadrille making class was the perfect way to experience the culture of Sevilla and make a beautiful piece of art. The artisans at this store teach about the origins of this simple footwear and its varied forms across Spain. Then they guide you on each step of placing the ribbons. Our instructor was knowledgeable and so personable. Each of the artisans we met were really welcoming and we enjoyed every minute of our hour long class. My espadrilles are gorgeous. It was a truly enjoyable experience I will always remember with a warm heart. Thank you to our young lady Jos who made our last day in Sevilla so lovely. I highly recommend this store and class.

Wow, wow, wow! These folks understand good service! While we had our hearts set on making our own Espadrilles classes weren’t offers during Seville’s Féria. Via email, which they were unbelievably responsive too, we visited the store and had custom sandals made. Alexandra was expecting us and we received a welcome which included bell ringing. Had we known how excited they would be to see us we certainly would have recorded our greeting ☺️. The custom Espadrilles are gorgeous!

I had the best time at this workshop. The beautiful espadrilles I got to take home were second only to the warmth and enthusiasm of the teachers.
