Penoy Blossom season is one of the most magical times of the year in Luoyang. Since the Tang Dynasty, no Chinese city has been able to rival Luoyang in growing peonies, boasting nearly 10 million peony trees with more than 700 species. Join this private day tour to discover the most famous peony blossom viewing spots in Luoyang. Marvel at the UNESCO-listed Longmen Grottoes to view thousands of Buddhist statues carved into the steep limestone cliffs. Experience the friendly services of the local tour guide who will accompany you throughout the tour. This private tour including the entrance fee, hotel pick up and drop off. Seasonal tour runs yearly between April and May.

Longmen Grottoes
When booking your private tour, choose from five departure times, which range from the morning to the afternoon. After meeting your guide upon hotel pickup, hop into your vehicle and set off on your exciting tour.
Your first stop is the Longmen Grottoes, which contain the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). These works, entirely devoted to the Buddhist religion, represent the high point of Chinese stone carving.These contain almost 110,000 Buddhist stone statues, more than 60 stupas and 2,800 inscriptions carved on steles. The grottoes are formed in 1 km of the stretch of Yi river and were carved on both banks, in limestone formations creating the Longmen Caves. Most of the work was done on the western bank, while the eastern bank caves, of smaller numbers, served as residences for the large groups of monks.

As the largest the peony garden in China, Luoyang National Peony Garden stands out from other gardens for the various sorts, long florescence and more gorgeous flowers. China National Flower Garden cultivates about 500,000 peonies in 9 colors as well as a further 2,000,000 plants of 1,000 different species. Among them, a huge peony called “Flower Goddess” with an age of100 years and a height of 2 meters (7 feet) gains public attention.
After your tour finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Luoyang.
