Overview

On this tour, we will start from the Plaza de Armas, where we will visit various must-see spots on your visit to Peru. Peruvian cuisine is world-renowned for its tasty dishes such as: Anticuchos, Mazamorra, Picarones, Pollo a la brasa, Causa rellena, among others. These are some of the many culinary dishes in the country, showing you their preparation, history and tasting the seasoning of each cook or as we Peruvians call it "la señito". In Peru there are several (secret places), where you can eat delicious and cheap food, each dish will dazzle your palate; I assure you that you will enjoy and savor each typical Peruvian dish. The only requirement we ask is that you really like to eat and learn a little about Peruvian cuisine; and most importantly, we have to have fun together. We will finish the tour with pisco sour classes where we will taste different flavors of pisco, such as: lemon pisco, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, among others.

Go to Plaza Perú, located in a corner of the Plaza de Armas, next to the Government Palace and Municipality of Lima, where our meeting point is located.

  • Mercado Central

    Our guide will go to the Central Market so that you can observe the daily life of Peruvians and their gastronomic customs; In these places the food is very delicious and leaves your palate fascinated with Peruvian gastronomy.

    The tour guide will take you to one of the largest markets in Lima, where you can enjoy varieties of exotic Peruvian fruit; At this point we will taste and observe different types of Peruvian fruits such as: Guava, Banana, granadilla, mandarin, plum, mango, pitajaya, pacay; among others. We will also observe and taste Peruvian ceviche at a market stall and also how it is prepared.

  • Barrio Chino

    The tour guide will take you to the Chinatown, where we can taste Peruvian-Chinese fusion food. Here at this point we can see multiple delicious dishes that are shown in Chinatown such as: Chaufa, Min Pao, combination, chijaukai and tipakay; among other delicious dishes.

    At this point, the tour guide will head to a Republican mansion where we can taste the famous Peruvian pisco sour and also sample its many presentations and flavors. The best thing is that you can prepare your own Pisco Sour.

Loved the experience! Highly recommend!

Loved the tour! It is so much more than exploring the culinary heritage. Augusto is super passionate about Peru, its heritage, and is a wealth of knowledge. He showed us in 3 hours more than we could possibly do on our own, including the main square, the catacombs under the convent, the train station, and of course the street food tour.
