Overview

Join me on this self guided audio tour of Leipzig's fascinating communist past. As you walk with me through this vibrant city's mediaeval centre, we will discover how it looked in the 1980s under the East German regime and what it was like to live here then. Pass the former headquarters of the hated Stasi secret service and learn how people power in this City of Heroes began the process that tore down the Berlin Wall and brought the Stasi's reign of terror to an end.

Excellent Narration, Writing and Easily Managed

An excellent, easy-to-manage overview of a small slice of Lepzig’s DDR history. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and stopped midway for Christmas services at Thomas Kirche. I highly recommend this tour.

This audio tour (English) was an excellent introduction to Leipzig. We saw a few highlights we wanted to visit more in depth. The tour gave us a “lay of the land.” The tour also pointed out many interesting places that we would have missed otherwise. Great back stories to everything. If you’re curious about what life was like in the former East Germany and how it came down, or just want an overview of Leipzig, this is the perfect tour for you. It’s super easy to use this audio guide even if you’re not online. We highly recommend!

An excellent tour, very informative and easy to set up and use. I struggled to find English speaking tours in Leipzig and one I did book cancelled, so finding this was great. I went on to buy her book.

This was a great tour. Narration and directions were very good. You need good phone service. Ear buds a must. Plan on taking longer than 2 hrs to see, photo, and admire what you're seeing. Did a tour of Stasi Museum, which was right on the tour. It was easy to resume.
