Overview

Ice Fishing in comfort! Guests will learn about traditional ice fishing methods and lore, then will participate in a net pull. Guest will also learn how the net is set. Guest will see a live fish fillet then the chef will cook a delicious fish fry lunch right on top of the ice. Guest will also have opportunity to try out snowshoeing. Individual guest can choose to upgrade the experience to include jig fishing on their own inside a warm cabin.

Itinerary

Guest will be picked up from hotels in Yellowknife and embark on a Ice Fishing Trip. Itineraries include a quick sleigh ride to the ice fishing site. Guest will be shown how holes are drilled on the ice, taught how to jig ice fishing, and will enjoy an unique ice fishing experience inside a warm tent. Fresh Fish Fry Lunch.

Spoon fishing

Great experience! Nice driver, good organization. We started with a lovely fish meal in heated cabin, and then went to heated tent. We helped drill the holes, emptied the ice out and began fishing. My husband dropped a spoon down the hole accidentally. An hour later another guest fished it out. Amusing. I was lucky to catch a fish right at the end, after about two hours. We’re glad we took heat pads, my toes were a little cold.

Ice fishing was very entertaining! I’ve never fished before, but I got lucky and was the only one that caught a fish 15 minutes before the experience was over. It was fun to see others almost catch fish, and have them celebrate my win also. I recommend the experience, it requires patience but is highly rewarding

Ice fishing was awesome, book it now. Mid winter, extra frosty, but the tents where heated and the fish were bitting. Peter is your main man, and the best fisherman there. Be sure to team up with him to enough your best odds at landing your first ice fish.

You have an excellent group of people working with you—everyone is so kind, gentle, and genuinely dedicated to making sure the experience is as enjoyable as possible. Their hospitality and commitment to ensuring comfort are truly remarkable. The food we enjoyed, especially the fish, was absolutely delicious. I spent two hours fishing, and it was such a pleasant and memorable experience. I nearly caught a big fish! The team mentioned it might have been one with large teeth, as it managed to cut the fishing line and escape.
