Overview

During the Jewish Heritage Tour, you will find out where the famous politician Golda Meir was born. We will visit Babii Yar and learn about the tragedy that took the lives of thousands of Jews. You will analyze the historical events of that time and understand the causes of the Jewish pogroms, as well as hear about the sensational case of Beilis. You will visit Rosenberg Synagogue and Brodsky Synagogue, as well as the mansions of Lieberman and Gorodetsky.

    This is a gastronomic center, which successfully combines cultural and architectural, historical and culinary significance. The market was built with the financial aid of Lazar Brodsky, philanthropist and the richest Kiev sugar factory owner. The Brodsky family built synagogue, Jewish hospital and bacteriological institute in Kiev.

  • Brodsky Synagogue

    Kyiv synagogue on the corner of Shota Rustaveli and Rognedinska streets was built in 1898. It was Lazar Brodsky, famous Kiev millionaire and philanthropist, and sugar king who donated money for the construction. The building was built in a year; the works were carried out by the best construction company in the city the one owned by Leo Ginzburg. The grand opening and consecration of the synagogue took place on the day of the 50th anniversary of Lazar Brodsky – on August 24, 1898. For three decades, the building functioned as a Jewish religious center. In 2000, the grand opening of the renovated Kiev Central Synagogue took place.

  • Liberman Mansion - Writers' Union House

    City estate in the center of Kiev, a monument of architecture and history of the city. Fedor Trepov, the former mayor of St. Petersburg commissioned the mansion to Vladimir Nikolaev, prominent Kiev architect. Construction was completed in 1879. Having bought the house with adjacent territory in 1896, Simha Lieberman, sugar factory owner asked Nikolaev to rebuild the building. Lieberman lived in this house up to his assassination in 1917.

  • Babi Yar Memorial

    This is where unforgettable in its scale, pre-planned to details killing of civilians took place – those were Jews, Ukrainians, Russians, Roma, mainly old people, women and children. We will tell you in detail about the murder of Jews by the German invaders.

Kiev Jewish Tour

My Jewish relatives emigrated from Ukraine to the United States during the years of the Soviet Union. After 33 years, they wanted to visit Kiev, and my wife and I ordered this tour by car, which includes the main Jewish sights of Kiev. We visited the Jewish market, Brodsky Synagogue and Babi Yar. Guide Anna was very knowledgeable, kind and we were absolutely satisfied. Highly recommended
