Overview

Enjoy a great morning horseback ride through coconut plantations, mangrove trees and on Playa Larga Beach which is the longest beach of the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area. As you ride your horse on the beach there will be a nice ocean breeze and the results of: vegetation, ocean waves, lagoon and mountain range will make the horseback ride beautiful and pleasant. The horses are friendly, well trained and very good for experienced riders and also for beginners, you will have the chance to go at your own pace and while riding on the beach you can even make the horse go at a faster pace. You will ride on the horse for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and will have the opportunity to take pictures with your own camera and the tour guide will also offer to take pictures of you with your camera. At the end of the ride we will provide you with a good cold beer or a bottle of water.

Itinerary

On this one hour and 20 minutes horseback-ride experience, you will ride through the beautiful beach of Playa Larga, which is the longest beach in the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Area. There will be a lagoon behind the beach with lots of mangrove trees , you will also see the Sierra Madre mountains and a coconut plantation. In the middle of the ocean there will be 2 beautiful rock formations that you can take a picture. After the horseback ride you will be taken back to your hotel.

This was absolutely amazing! The horses knew exactly what to do and it was a relaxing and truly enjoyable experience! Walking along the beach as the waves came in made it a beautiful experience! Well worth the time and money!

I can't recommend this enough - it was a great experience, and our guide Pablo made it even better! We got to ride the horses around town, down the beach, and back. It was a very pleasant ride and is great for the whole family.

Excellent tour and well worth the money

We were picked up as promised outside of our hotel. The ride from Embarc to Playa Larga was scenic and enjoyable. The horses appeared to be well-treated. They were also docile and easy to manage. Although our young guide spoke little English, he was charming and helpful (carried a phone to translate when necessary). The beach is beautiful and we rode up to a salt water lagoon where a crocodile decided to make an appearance. For some reason, we did not ride through the coconut plantation - just alongside of it on the beach. Our driver, Pablo, spoke excellent English and was full of interesting facts. We were most interested in his description of local herbal medicines made from the local plants. He stopped and picked a couple of guava for us to sample and recommended a tamarind margarita which my husband tried at a restaurant that evening and loved.

Incredible experience for everyone! The horses were incredibly well trained and even lined up for photos! Riding down the beach watching the waves come crashing in was perfect! Kids and adults- everyone had a blast and got to do some trotting! The hotel pickup and drop off was great too- the ride was well air conditioned and comfortable- everyone spoke great English and gave us tips and info along the way.
