This two & a half hour helicopter tour takes you to Whitehaven Beach, where you'll enjoy a one & a half hour stay, complete with nibblies and ice cold beverages. First we head out to the beautiful Whitsunday Island, where we'll land on the world famous Whitehaven Beach for a one and a half hour stop**. Enjoy a drink & a bite to eat before some free time to explore the beach. We then take off past the beautiful Hill Inlet, heading for the world famous Great Barrier Reef. Where we visit some the renowned Heart Reef. As we head back home, we'll fly past Hayman Island, Hook Island and finish up with some more views of the Molle Island Group, with Whitsunday Island and Long Island in the distance. *This tour has a maximum passenger weight limit of 130kg/286lb per seat, and total combined passenger weight of 230kg/507lb. **Time spent on the beach is approximate

Itinerary

  • Shute Harbour (Pass By)

    As we fly past Mount Rooper and over Shute Harbour, the gateway to The Whitsundays, you'll be likely to see a ferry or two on their way out to the islands. Additionally, you'll see some of the smaller reefs and islands that surround the coast.

  • South Molle Island (Pass By)

    The first of the big Islands we pass by will be South Molle Island. Looking a bit further to the south and you'll also spot Long Island.

  • Whitsunday Island (Pass By)

    Whitsunday Island is the largest island in the Whitsundays, covering an area of 275.08 km² In addition to it's magnificent fringing reefs and beaches. Whitsunday Island boasts some of most beautiful scenery in the world, with the pure white sands of Whitehaven Beach and the twisting blue waters of Hill Inlet, both of which are just around the corner.

  • Whitehaven Beach

    The highlight of this tour package is our visit to Whitehaven Beach, where you will spend an hour and a half on one of the most stunning beaches in the world. Sit back and relax with the included canapés and some refreshing beverages before exploring the beauty of Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet.

  • Whitehaven Beach (Pass By)

    Whitehaven Beach is best recognised by it's brilliant white sands and turquoise waters, thought to have been brought to the beach over millions of years by prevailing sea currents. Across from Whitehaven Beach, on Haslewood Island you'll also find Chalkie's Beach, with it's fringing reef system home to a variety of fish and sea turtles Whitehaven Beach is about as picturesque as they get, so make sure you have your camera ready!

  • Hill Inlet (Pass By)

    Just north of Whitehaven Beach we'll see Hill Inlet, which is best viewed from the seat of a helicopter

  • Great Barrier Reef (Pass By)

    As we begin to head out to the reef, you'll be able to take in a bit more of Whitsunday Island, before heading out past Border Island. The first of the major reefs you'll see will be Hook Reef.

  • Heart Reef (Pass By)

    Part of the larger Hardy Reef, Heart Reef is an internationally recognised attraction that brings in travelers from all over the world. Named after it's perfect heart shaped structure of coral, Heart Reef is best viewed from above

  • Great Barrier Reef (Pass By)

    As we return to Shute Harbor, we'll take in some more of the Great Barrier Reef, with aerial views of Hardy Reef and Bait Reef.

  • Hayman Island (Pass By)

    Hayman Island is the northern most island of the Whitsunday Islands, and is home to the popular Hayman Island Resort. The island also boasts stunning beaches, reefs, cliffs and mountain look-outs.

  • Hook Island (Pass By)

    Hook Island, while mostly uninhabited, has many popular attractions including Stonehaven Bay, Butterfly Bay, Nara Inlet, Macona Inlet, and the Hook Island Marine Park, which is filled with coral reefs. mangrove forests, seagrass beds and beautiful beaches. As we fly over, keep an eye out for the surrounding reefs arrangement of marine life such as turtles, dolphins and dugongs.

  • Molle Islands National Park (Pass By)

    Before reaching the mainland we do another fly by past North and South Molle Islands, with Whitsunday Island and Long Island out in the distance.

An unforgettable experience

This was the most amazing experience that we will remember forever. We were picked up on time from our accommodation and Justin was the perfect host, guide and pilot. Helicopter was very clean and comfortable. We experienced quality time on beautiful Whitehaven beach and flew over the most amazing views of the Islands and reef. Thank you Justin for the most memorable day. Would thoroughly recommend.

Niels was a brilliant pilot. We were visiting in rainy season so Niels was flexible during the day to make sure we found a safe window to fly whilst still having an amazing flight experience over the reef. Would definitely recommend Niels and this company Brilliant experience

We had an amazing trip this week to see the Great Barrier Reef and land on stunning Whitehaven Beach. The personal helicopter ride was fantastic and our pilot Justin was just great. Spectacular flight out to the reef and then 90 mins to relax on the beach with a picnic and a couple of drinks. This has been the best experience of our trip so far and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Airlie Beach.
