Overview

If you're new to white water rafting trips, no worries, as you have four miles of relatively calm water to learn the paddle commands and how to paddle effectively as a team. Along the way there are incredible views into Glacier National Park's dramatic terrain. Once you get to John Stevens Canyon the river picks up speed and your adventure really begins. You'll need all of that practice from upstream to execute the commands in the white water. With rapids like Bonecrusher, Jaws and the Notch (to name a few) your crew is sure to have an exciting time.

Meeting points

Traveling east on Highway 2 from Columbia Falls, Great Northern is on the left side of the highway a half-mile before the turn onto the Going to the Sun Highway toward Glacier National Park. Look for the Red Caboose! We ask that all guests arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled trip time.

Itinerary

Our Half Day White Water Trips offer an exciting day of Class II-III rapids and breathtaking views along the southern boundary of Glacier National Park. Trips depart rain or shine. No experience necessary. Trip times depend on the season and may be shorter when river levels are higher. No maximum weight - must be able to buckle a 58" chest life jacket. Minimum age 5, minimum weight of 50 pounds. Minimums ages are higher in the early season when river levels are higher.

Great way to spend a morning in Glacier!

Awesome trip! The river was a little low so the rapids weren't crazy, but it was fun and a beautiful trip down the river. The guides were fun, entertaining, and knowledgeable. One thing to note if you book through Trip Advisor: the time it lists is the departure time! I assumed it was the meeting time like many of the other TripAdvisor experiences and I almost got left behind.

Luke was an excellent guide. Felt very safe and very entertained the whole time. The rapids were numerous and not to crazy but still very exciting. Definitely would recommend this company for rafting in Glacier.

Our guide Jacki.was amazing! The scenery was awesome as well! It was a great half day adventure. The weather was not great, so I recommend using good water shoes and their splash jackets.

What a great trip! We had a blast!!! Jackie, our guide, did an amazing job guiding us through the rapids and was a wealth of information about the river and the history of the area. The staff was professional and fun.
