Overview

This 2 hours walking city tour will take you to the highlights of the city of Florence after sunset with a top-rated local guide. This night walk includes the most important monuments of Florence such as Duomo, Baptistery, Belltower, piazza Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Porcellino market, piazza Repubblica and much more. This tour is a perfect option for your holiday evenings in Florence to explore more of the city.

Itinerary

  • Piazza Santa Croce (Pass By)

    In the company of a local guide you will learn something of the city’s history, especially during the Renaissance period.  You will see first the outside of the Church of Santa Croce, the principal Franciscan church of Florence with its wonderful frescoes. 

  • Piazza della Signoria (Pass By)

    continue to Piazza della Signoria that holds an outdoors exhibition of Renaissance statues. On one side is the Uffizi Gallery once the home of the Great Duke’s of Florence and on the opposite side of the piazza the imposing Palazzo Vecchio, former seat of the Florentine government.

  • Ponte Vecchio (Pass By)

    Then it is on to Piazza dei Peruzzi and the Bargello Palace. A short walk will bring you to the Porcellino market and here your guide will tell you all about the Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge dating back to the 14th century.

  • Piazza del Duomo (Pass By)

    The final visit of the tour is to the famous Piazza Duomo with its marvelous cathedral noted for its dazzling green and white marble. 

  • Basilica di San Lorenzo (Pass By)

    At this point your guide will take you to the Basilica of San Lorenzo where you will say your goodbyes and then be free to explore this wonderful church at your leisure. You will be part of a small group. The maximum amount of people on the tour is 12 people so no earphone is needed and you can have a close interaction with the guide.  This tour is a perfect option for your holiday evenings in Florence to explore more of the city and meet new friends.

Kateryn was so accommodating and told intriguing stories of the history of Florence, how politics influenced the arts and the construction of landmarks, and some modern culture suck as the soccer festival on St. John the Baptist Day. And a surprise bit of info about wine doors! She was truly delightful!

Relaxing, informative tour in stunning central Florence

This is a great overview walking tour. You get an up-close view of all the important buildings without going inside. We did the tour in July, so the sun was still up for most of the tour. (See photos to see "golden hour" light.) It was a cooler time of day to do a walking tour, so I would recommend it for just that in the summer months. Guide pointed out details we would have missed on our own. We all wore little headsets, so could wonder off a bit from the group if we wanted to. Informative and enjoyable tour.
