    Veliko Tarnovo is home to the magnificent Tsaravets Fortress, the strongest Bulgarian fortification from the Middle Ages. Once home to royalty this ancient stronghold is now a striking tourist attraction standing proudly atop Tsaravets Hill. Once you have explored Veliko Tarnovo and enjoyed lunch, the tour will continue to its final stop; Arbanasi Village. Nestled on a high plateau between the settlements of Veliko Tarnovo and Gorna Oryahovitsa, Arbanasi Village provides spectacular views and incredible examples of medieval architecture dating back several centuries. Fantastic tour!!

This was an absolutely fabulous tour! First, our tour guide, Gabriel, was amazing. He knew SO much and taught us throughout the day. We had plenty of time at each of the places we visited. It was a great way to explore and learn about Bulgaria. I highly recommend this tour.

Bulgaria was a beautiful and historically filled country. The trip from Romania all the way to Bulgaria and back was a pleasant experience.Lucian was kind,polite ,helpful and knowledgeable and seems like he love what he’s doing. My son and I had a fantastic experienced.

Our guide Gabriel was a great part of what made this day so enjoyable. He is extremely knowledgeable, not only able informing us of all of the sites we were to visit, but also recommending an excellent restaurant for lunch in Veliko Tyrnovo, and explaining—in the most informed way I have ever heard—the difference between Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Although I am an actress who constantly is called upon to remember lines, I was impressed with his ability to conjure dates, names, facts of long distant people and events. The tour itself was excellent despite the rain. The Sveta Troitsa Church in Ruse and the Church of the Nativity in Arbanasi were especially remarkable with their frescos/murals. An added plus in Ruse was, because it was Sunday, a service was in progress—although I understood nothing and am not Orthodox, it was beautiful to hear. A great tour. Highly recommended.

Bulgaria is a nice place to visit. The cities and village that we visited were awesome. The fort was interesting and our guide gave us just enough info. The day was long but very well planned. Ruse is a beautiful city and deserves to be seen. Overall, great day and good Bulgarian food.

Really enjoyed this tour. Learned lots about Bulgaria & the differences between it & Romania. Brilliant guide Rodica and really enjoyed the lunch spot recommended. The church & fortress were very impressive. Well worth the day trip.
