Our first stop is the verdant one and one of the representative villages of Crete, Potamies. We will be guided to a traditional farm where we will see the milking of animals and local activities such as cheese making. There we will taste traditional products such as fresh cheese, olive oil & rakomelo!

Next stop is the Aposelemis dam, the largest water supply project in Crete. The village of Sfendili is submerged in the waters of the dam with its impressive old houses fading on the surface of the water. Also a natural wetland with a variety of birds.

Then we will start our ascent using dirt roads, we will pass through the gorge Of “Ebassas”. The view of the imposing mountains and the wild beauty of nature will reward you. At the short stop, the guide will collect various local herbs (oregano, thyme, sage) as the Cretans used to do.

After that, we'll make a stop at the longest windmill line in Crete, located at the entrance of Lasithi Plateau. Here, we'll have a panoramic photo opportunity and learn about the history of windmills in Crete!

We proceed to the Lassithi Plateau, where the cave of the god Zeus is located. Whether you choose to visit it or simply relax with a walk or enjoy a coffee in one of the local cafeterias offering a panoramic view of the plateau. (ticket to the cave not included).

Tour the plateau of Lasithi through the gardens, meet the locals and explore the small villages!
Immediately after we will enjoy delicious authentic food, baked in the wood oven in one of the best traditional taverns. Including Food with wine and water. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or special dietary needs

The last stop will be in the traditional village of Krasi, reaching the village square, one will see the three huge planees and Vryses dominate. Among them stands the largest and perennial plane tree aged over than 2000 years.

Our journey culminates with a spectacular panoramic view stretching from Sissi to Analipsi. Don't miss the opportunity to capture stunning photos that encapsulate the scenic beauty of this unforgettable experience.

We are very happy that we booked this tour. It is nice to see the villages, know how people live and learn the culture. Our guide named Vagelis made it so fun that there is no dull moments during the entire trip. We've got a photographer as well. This is highly recommended though cave of Zeus is closed during our tour because it is too late for us to come to Crete. A lot of businesses started to close for the winter season. According to the locals the best time to come is from May to september. But we will definitley go back and book other trips with safari experts of course.

We had a wonderful day on this tour. The tour guide Manu was excellent, very knowledgeable and accommodating. He made sure we had a feel for the local friendship from the islanders. We experience the local food that was incredible tasty and plentiful. I would recommend this guide and the tour.

We had an amazing time. The Land Rover thing was super cool and our guide was knowledgeable and funny. It was great to see traditional Greek life and get up into the mountains.

Adam was the best tour guide ever! We loved the Land Rover - the off reading was so much fun for my 5 year old son. Gorgeous good, loads of information, felt like a real Cretan experience.

It was a very fun trip to see the quieter and more traditional interior of Crete. Our visit to a quiet and traditional coffee shop in a small village was a highlight. The traditional lunch in another village was relaxing, delicious, and not too touristy—just what we wanted. Our guide, Vagelis, provided fantastic local insights and the history of Crete. I highly recommend it.
