The Factory Butte area is about as close to a lunar landscape as we think you can get on Earth! The area is full of amazing geologic features, vast expanses of badlands, and some of the most beautiful terrain imaginable. This region has become even more requested than the formerly typical popular backcountry routes and offers the same experience of solitude, awe, and complete immersion in natural beauty without much of the crowds common in those places. This route has a unique beauty as well as place in our hearts and is a must-see and a photographer's paradise.

This area offers the most incredible overlook of the San Rafael Swell from a point known to very few prior to its recent emergence as a must-see for those passionate photographers as well as social media stars! It is truly an otherworldly visual experience you will never forget. Known as Moonscape Overview as well as Skyline Overview, both names aptly describe the visceral experience of looking out over the expanse of natural wonders. great interesting experience not to miss on way to the Moomscape overlook

This was a great experience. its easy to see from the highway and to get there. We checked it out on route to the Moonscape overlook experience which is another story. there is a small parking lot to your left where people were camping to either catch a certain sun shadow or the night sky. high clearance vehicle is best but you could get here in a SUV if it has not been raining. There is info signs there that tells you about it. We did not drive in to get closer just checked it out from the road

We had an amazing time with Jen touring Moonscape Landing, Factory Butte, and Capitol Reef National Park. Jen was super friendly and knowledgeable and she made everything so fun and exciting. She was extremely helpful and made sure we were comfortable and safe and that we had sure footing any time we got out of the jeep. It was cool seeing the park along with the other landmarks and it was interesting learning about the history behind it all. We even got a few bonus features. We would definitely take another tour with Jen.

Jenny was awesome. She was super kind, and very knowledgeable about the region, the history of the rock formations, why certain buttes are famous and she graciously took banding photos of us with the otherworldly backgrounds.
