Overview

Enjoy a hands-on cooking experience with this 5-hour class in a centuries old olive press. Join Chef Giuseppe - a veteran of cooking classes in Italy, the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico - for a shopping trip at the market to purchase ingredients. Sample some Tuscan specialties and prosecco. Prepare a 4-course meal, which you'll eat at the end of class. As Giuseppe is a member of the Italian Sommelier Association, great care is taken to source and feature smaller producers and unusual varieties from the region. If you are passionate about wine, participating in a cooking class with a chef who is also a sommelier, is a great way to experience all the flavours of the region!

Itinerary

After 7 years as the #1 cooking program in Lucca, we are returning to the family roots in the countryside olive press. This is Chef Giuseppe's ancestral home. We will meet in town and enjoy the weekly market, before proceeding to the Olive Oil Mill where we will begin our preparations with hearthside cooking, a pizza oven and a charming country setting where Tuscan wildlife abounds. The mill is adjacent to a babbling brook and 12th century stone bridge just a short 10' drive from the centre of Montecatini. The train stop is 30' from either Florence or Lucca. After class explore the heritage spa town with its iconic pastry shops, original wood funicular and excellent shopping.

Amazing Tuscan Cooking Class with Giuseppe

My husband and I plus our two daughters (ages 18 and 20) spent Thanksgiving afternoon shopping and then cooking with Giuseppe at his beautifully restored Tuscan villa which was once an olive oil press. The experience was the highlight of our trip! Not only is Giuseppe a wonderful cook, he is a great teacher and he also knows his wine. It was the most spectacular way to spend Thanksgiving while in Italy. We highly recommend booking a cooking class with Giuseppe!

From shopping at a charming Farmer’s Market to his incredibly beautiful kitchen and home, this class was a highlight of our two weeks in Tuscany. Experiencing Giuseppe’s Extra Virgin cooking class was one of the top highlights to our 3 weeks in Italy. He met us at the train station at 9. There were 9 in our group. After introductions were made we made our way to the market to buy some additional vegetables to add to our meal. Then we visited a wonderful fresh pasta market a short distance from the market. Then we were taxied to Giuseppe’s Villa. This was a nice addition to the main event our Italian cooking class. Giuseppe’s villa is a beautiful venue to experience the joy of cooking. Giuseppe was a wonderful instructor and shared some rich stories about his family, the different wines and regions of Italy. Our meal was fabulous and Giuseppe had everything well planned and kept the fun moving throughout the day. We loved this cooking class and would sign up again.

Idyllic setting authentic experience

The most authentic cooking course in the most idyllic setting. Giuseppe could not do enough for us and educated us around both the beautiful 16th Century buildings and of course the delicious food we helped to prepare. Once seated in the beautifully decorated dining area it felt so relaxed with the help of the stunning win pairings from the region if felt like we were among old friends.. would throughly recommend this experience - thank you Giuseppe.
