Explore the haunted history of Music City on Nashville’s Original Haunted Downtown Walking Tour. You will be entertained with the amazing ghostly tales of tragic country stars, Presidential phantoms, and Civil War soldiers. These famously haunted, historic sites include the Tennessee State Capitol, the Hermitage Hotel, Printer’s Alley, St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows, and the original home of the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium. Our tours start at the corner of 6th Avenue North and Union Street. Across the street from the Hermitage Hotel in Downtown Nashville. Tour Guides dress in Victorian Costumes and carry a lanterns.

    Meet your lantern bearing tour guide dressed in Victorian costume. At this location, your guide will explain how the ghost stories were researched, what to expect and how to ghost hunt with photography. At this location, the tour guide will tell the ghost stories of the Hermitage Hotel including the Lady in White, the ghost of room 910, and the Southern Belle.

  • Tennessee State Capitol

    After hearing the haunting stories of the Hermitage Hotel you will take a short stroll to the The Tennessee State Capitol. Your tour guide will lead you around the grounds of the State Capitol to see President Polk’s Tomb, the Famous Andrew Jackson statue, and the Liberty Bell. You will hear the true ghost stories about the people buried in the walls of the State Capitol, the ghost of President Polk, the ghost of the Confederate Soldier, and find out why Rachel Jackson is still haunting the building to this day.

    Visit the oldest church in downtown Nashville and discover the mysteries behind the ghostly priest who haunted St. Mary’s for decades.

    Hear the ghost stories of the world famous Printer’s Alley, and it’s sordid history involving speakeasies, underground gambling dens, brothels and the murder of Skull Schulman at the Rainbow Room.

Fun times with the ghosts

The guide knew the history well and had great stories! Walking pace worked well for the group even though my leg went wonky during the tour for some reason.

Joy was a great guide. Very smooth in delivery, almost like she's been doing it forever. Definitely loves the job! Good stories with a little bit of sly whit! Definitely appreciated interacting with the group. And it was nice that it wasn't just a Tour of, "someone was killed here and now it's Haunted " ...kind of tour. Definitely recommend it. A good bit of Walking too from the State complex to the Ryman...at a slow pace..

Never done this type of tour before. So worth it! Jill was amazing!! The history and stories were so cool! Been to Nashville several times but never knew so much of the history shared. My daughter even got a pic of a ghost at the capitol. So cool!!

Although it wasn't spooky, it was highly entertaining and we enjoyed learning some of the darker side of Nashville. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. She is very kind and funny.
