Overview

Surprise yourself walking through the picturesque streets of Malaga. Immerse yourself in the history and local culture and discover the curiosities of one of the oldest cities in Europe, thanks to this Walking Tour. You will start the tour in Alcazabilla Street. There you will find out all the secrets that Alcazaba, the Muslim fortress has to offer.Then, you will head to Merced Square, remarkable place that saw the birth of the genius Pablo Picasso. You will continue to the nerve centre of the city, Constitution Square, in where you learn about how to order coffee in Malaga.   • Teatro Romano de Malaga

    The official guide will welcome you and start the tour talking about the origins of the city of Malaga. Did you know that Malaga is one of the oldest cities in Europe? We will immerse ourselves in the Roman period and learn about the details of the spectacular Roman Theatre.

    Next to the Roman Theatre is the Alcazaba of Malaga, an archaeological site that is unique in the world. We will go deep into the Muslim period and learn why the city of Malaga was considered impregnable. We will also find out why the Alcazaba is known as the little sister of the Alhambra.

    The Plaza de la Merced is one of the emblematic places in the city centre, as it was the place where Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born.

Best Tour of old Malaga - so glad we did this!

We booked the Essential Malaga City Tour , the walking tour of Old Malaga. Our guide Candida was perfecto - knowledgeable with a degree in history, spoke English exceptionally well and was kind, and well prepared with additional information snd photos on her IPad. And even gave us all her recommendations on where to eat and what to see. Her seafood restaurant recommendation was best ever! .don’t hesitate to take this tour with her i red her business partner as your guide. She clearly loved her work and it shows!

Excellent tour thru Malaga’s history

Candy is an excellent communicator, knows her topic and Malaga’s history very well. At some places during our tour get crowded and noisy. It would be good if we had an ear piece so we can hear her better.

Hearing many stories behind the various magnificent monuments and buildings. A very interesting tour, Candida also showed us historical photographs of many of the areas and buildings we visited.
