Elephant Cave tour

I only had one full day in Mumbai before heading to a retreat and was told to visit the elephant caves. Today a driver picked me up from my hotel and got me on the ferry. On the island I was met by my tour guide Nikhil. He lives on the island as does his family and he really understands the history of these caves. He helped me learn how they were created and what has happened to them since their creation. I’d recommend this tour for anyone especially a solo female traveler who would like all the details attended to so you could just enjoy the journey as much as I did.

Nikhil was our guide. He is very knowledgeable about the temple’s history and of the Hindu religion. The guided tour makes the caves more interesting and brings it to life. He patiently waits for us and gives us time to roam about and explore the caves. He is also very proactive in helping us snap photos and welcomes any questions we had.
